Trying? Well, as much as a gangpile can be accomplished on an

What stuff you talking about? I mean, you offering free level 8's
here in your playground - kinda loses a bit in the electronic
transfer, doncha think? My level 8's were free but then, there was no
level 8 program at the dz when I completed my student training. You
paid for yours.
>SOON THE GM's will have the BOD move

No, a license is a license but I'm guessing if you had your way, no
one would be jumping if they were obnoxious enough to learn how to
stand up their landing in under...I dunno..*80* jumps!
>this cud be interesting
>after the 500 jump clause kicks in for D...

Naw, the 500 thing is more for allowing the people who make 200 jumps
to not get the impression that they're some sort of knowitall master
skydiver - ready to organize, toggle hook, and dump low with impunity.
After 500 jumps it's more likely if they've been around for that long
that they've grown themselves a clue. But then, you wouldn't know
about that. Heh - that's whay you're against the whole licensing bar
being raised - D's of the future will have more jumps behind their
license than you!

Same here no level 8's when I started, first time I saw level 8's wuz at Waller
back when they had the Queen Air . By then I had the D & the people doing it
wern't JM's but tryouts I thought it wuz a JM Quall card or JCC prep thing or
something This particular L8 sheep team had a robin planned I believe...didn't
know what the fuk wuz up...the student had hiking boots on with eye
hooks...Being a eagle eyed static line grad...hadda point it out to the level
8 JM and suggest some masking tape. L8 served a dual purpose I guess, a
training jump for both partys...
Good thing their wuz a SL guy in the loading area...These Level 8's gave a JM
wanna be some hands on with a student about ready to be signed off and saved
the JM/I a wasted jump if the kid wuzzn't ready to be signed off... ;)
Yeah, okay - so what free shit you talking about which ain't free
nowadays?

And you provide this here? Certainly not at dz's.
>D's jumping with non licenced skydivers in 4/8/16/20
>ways
And you provide this here? Certainly not at dz's - nevermind that
taking a non licensed skydiver up on, really - anything more than a 3
or 4way is not only not something which the student pays the dz for
now (or ever) beyond his own ticket but the dz doesn't pay anyone
else to facillitate either - certainly not any D's who would get such
foolishness in their heads. They get a license and things can be
taken from there but no license up on a 20way? Utter foolishness and
a waste of the unlicensed's ticket.
>and correcting their climb out & body position flaws....
And you provide this here? Certainly not on dz's - nevermind that
correcting climbout & body position flaws are never charged for.
>they gotta use a
>coach often with fewer jumps & less experiance than the people helping novices
>in the
>90's now don't they?
They don't gotta do anything. I jumped with an unlicensed student
-several times- a few weeks ago and it wasn't any sort of assignment
from the dz, and it wasn't me going up and trying to flex for a ticket
or even a coaching angle - I'm not a coach, never got the piece of
paper (or took the course) but I got a D and I paid for my ticket and
the dz didn't bat an eye when I told him to go pick out the student
gear he liked while I put us on the loads - he learned some things and
we had some good dives and I would bet pretty easily that this kind of
shit happens all the time - so tough tittie, things aren't all bad.
As far as fewer jumps and less experience than the people helping
novices in the 90's are concerned, in many cases people jumping with
unlicensed skydivers today *are* those people who were helping novices
in the 90's (except, with more experience). For that matter, I did a
fair amount of jumping with novices back in the 90's. Whoopty-shit.
You just want to portray some sort of golden utopia which you were
somehow some sort of prelate of (bullshit) and as today you are not
skydiving nor are you at dz's where you would be busted for your
ignorance face to face, you seek to describe the utopia's antithesis
into reality here...sour grapes.

You would think that such a brave philosophy could stand interruption,
nevermind that actually having a D and jumping with unlicensed
novices loses a good bit in the electronic translation of a usenet
posting - not to mention, whereas you typify such things as free
coming from you, I contend that it is also still free in reality.

Which isn't really much of an argument for castigating skydiving
because it's not doing things purported to once be free which are now
purported to be no longer free. Try some other convienent sound-bite.

the old way was slower cause people stood back and checked you out first.
Serious skydiver? Show up every weekend? good attitude? suckass or back
stabber? in other words were you worth helping...now they pay and it might be
an inexperianced C coaching them...where as
ya had ex JM's with thousands of jumps that got tired of the rating grind,
didn't renew and did it for fun...all it cost you was the price of your own
jump ticket and maybe a case of beer if they got you to pull a first off. ;)P

Not that you are capable of standing back and checking out - rendering
this old way as it was administered on dropzones in real life from
behind a computer in a remote location.
>Serious skydiver?
Or a Skygod in training - it's a fine line.
>Show up every weekend?
Or with no life - another fine line.

Or willing to listen without question - a very fine line
>or back stabber?

>in other words were you worth helping...
Or worth ignoring? Of those choices, what are the skygods noted for?
Don't they decide who's "worth" helping and do they not decide and to
ignore? Where does that line seperate?
>now they pay and it might be an inexperianced C coaching them.
But, in most case, they are D's anyway but we'll tackle the coach with
the C for the sake of the argument. Sure, someone who hasn't taken
the easist test of the four, has maybe 499 jumps, maybe has only one
night jump but *has* learned how to fly with and coach a novice in a
program similarly administered to other coaches thus providing a
system of further education that is closer to consistant in what and
how it is administered across the board. They pay and as you said,
they get what they pay for. The former alternative included suckass
D's who had no proven ability beyond what they did to garner a D
(which is not itself geared towards specifically imparting knowledge
onto a novice skydiver) coaching them. Then or now, they pay one way
or the other.
>..where as ya had ex JM's with thousands of jumps that got tired of the rating grind,
>didn't renew and did it for fun...
Just as today these very same ex JM's with thousands of jumps that got
tired of the rating grind, didn't renew and did it for fun.
>all it cost you was the price of your own
>jump ticket and maybe a case of beer if they got you to pull a first off.
But it also cost the jumpers who might have been a less serious, who
might have been skygods in training, who might have no life, who might
be politically correct, who might be unwilling to learn, who might be
sychophants, and who might not be worth helping - all of which are
very fine lines of judgement and entirely subjective assessments.
Every coach I've seen who's ever helped the student pull of a first
has made sure the beer was shared out and it seems to me that the
coaches are more likely to help produce a beerworthy dive - no skin
off of my ass.

No, we were talking about how you impart this "wisdom and training" at
dropzones from a remotely located trailer in the woods over the
usenet. When you were this "up-jumper," averaging 1-2 jumps a
weekend, I might add (hardly up to me), you were taking novices and
throwing them into environments they had no business being in. Sure,
you were good to go as long as you could get what you wanted, like
pretending to be on a bigway with people who people who didn't know
any better because the people who did know better, knew better than to
have you come up on their bigway more than once.

whatever it takes to get their fix.

So, what about the other people who backstabbed or the reformed two

For the emotionally challenged, I suppose. Just like anything, only
requires discipline (and if I had any discipline I wouldn't still be
laughing about you pontificating about the undesirablilty of laying
blame!) But, I don't - snerk snerk snerk...heh heh ha heh...snort...
>Only a select few can abstain from back bighting...
A select few which didn't seem to include you, I'm betting. So, when
that outlaw 90's dz told you to lay off with the bigways crammed full
of novices, I'm sure you said, Aye-aye, and proceeded to talk just
nothing but roses about the dz and the rules they enforce. Uh
huh...laying blame...heheheheheh...
>the Novices were under a
>lotta pressure, they had to learn to supress this city tendency...
What about the novices from the country?
>leave the office politics at work....
So, how do you tell someone at a dropzone to leave the office politics
at work from your bunker in the woods (unless they happen to be online
while at the dz)?
>this is about fun kid.
Of course it is but this does contradict your ealier statement about
skydiving being all about excellence and discipline...and not laying
blame...hee-hee!!!
>Catch some zen, blow it off
But be sure to creep the dive and dirtdive it regularlike and then
creep it again in gear and correct that body position on exit and
don't fall off and look after each other's gear because you're your
brother's keeper and when your time is up, it's up so checking gear is
a waste of time and don't have fun and party because you're supposed
to be up early to jump and for God's sake - whatever you do, don't
try to lay blame because (aside from making Jerry split a gut laughing
his ass off), it's just not good attitudewise so blow it all
off...except that.
