All of the skydiving helmets I've worn (Bonehead, Hawkeye, Nvertigo)
haven't had much in the way of padding inside. I doubt they'd do much
for you if you ran into a tree snowboarding.
You might be better off with a ski/snowboard helmet skydiving.

For those who do, no explanation is necessary.
For those who don't, no explanation is possible.

I have a Boeri skiing helmet that I use for jumping. It's not too
big, and it's got a lot of padding too. They come in some pretty cool
patterns and styles and don't cost nearly as much as some of the
skydiving helmets.

Before you buy.
On the other hand: snowboarding/skying with your skydiving camcorder on your
head gives great footage, especially if you do some snow-RW with a friend (or if
you follow him in the snowboarder's funpark!).
Cold is no problemo (unless you're snowboarding above 15000ft?).

True true. One thing though, is that if you close an eye to aim your
shot it tends to throw off your depth perception, which is not a good
thing while skiing, especially while looking in one direction and
skiing in another.
While you're at it, try blasting down a narrow tree lined trail on a
snowmobile with your skydiving helmut cam. That's some scary video.
Motorcycles are good for that too.
No video here, but some pics of doing that kind of thing:

Do you keep one eye closed while shooting skydivers? Are you using a wide-angle lens?

With some of them I find it's best to keep both eyes closed! ;-)
