A Maryland man has died in a sky-diving accident in Sussex County,
Delaware. It happened at the Laurel Airport, 11:30 Sunday morning.
Delaware State Police say 30 year old Aaron Britton of Annapolis fell
to his death when his parachute got tangled during a jump. Britton
landed on the pavement of route 24 next to the airport and was killed
on impact. Britton was a veteran sky diver. This was his 500th jump.
Of course, there are questions that no reporter here can answer. I
was told by our weekend anchor that Aaron had a flyable canopy, then
stalled it and became tangled (!?) He then hit his reserve without
cutting away. Can anyone shed light on this tragedy? My thoughts are
with his friends and family.

Unfortunately the report from WBOC is correct. I was there and witnessed the
accident. He did stall his canopy several times and on the third one became
entangled in the lines of his main canopy. He had cutaway but was entangled
and could not free himself. He was suspended head to earth under the main and
deployed the reserve but it too had entangled with the main and never fully
deployed . More info will be forthcoming. He was an experienced camera
person for the DZ. His brother was also on the jump with him. My heart felt
sympathies go out to his family and friends. He was a most exuberant and
friendly person that would give anything to help anyone. He loved life to the
max. I miss him very much.
