Hello, I am considering a Rossignol Strato, what is your opinion on
the board, and the manufacturer in general?

I have a Strato FS152. It was too stiff for my wife to use, but its a good
board in the pipe. I also have a Nomad 160 that I do most of my riding on.
Rossi builds an excellent board, They've been in the snowsports industry for
decades and are well known for building superior ski equipment. They were also
one of the earlier ski companies to get into snowboards, only instead of buying
boards from small manufacturers and putting thier labels on them Rossi created
a new division within the company dedicated to developing and manufacturing
snowboards.
I am considering buying the Rossi Prowler next. I can't decide if I want to use
hard-boots with it though.

Rossignol is a good company. They have cornered the market on
snowboard rentals. I demoed this years Strato in Whistler this summer.
This is a proline board so it has some riders quirks. I found the
board a little to stiff. If you are riding big mountains then this no
problem. However if you will be using it in the park or pipe then it
will take getting use to. Also since it is stiff you can feel a lot of
the bumbs -- again if you ride powder this is not a problem. The board
turns well and the side cut is progressive. Since I ride the pipe and
park I just got the K2 AStar. This is the same type of board but is
less stiff and more resposive.

Again it depends where you are from and what type of riding you will be
doing.
