Does anyone have any thoughts about the Santa Cruz line of Snowboards?

I have a Santa Cruz and I like it. It's light and seems well designed.
Their bindings are great.

since 1990 I have been riding Burton's .. the Burton Air, Kelly Air, then
the '94 Brushie .. I also have a PJ7 race board .. I have never been
impartial nor ever looked at another board manufacturer .. until last year

for my job I 'had' to ride the '96 range of Santa Cruz boards .. the 156 XX
and the 153 XXX .. and one of the signatures .. it was very revealing ..
excellent stability (those boys at Volkl really know how to make cores) ..
very little vibration .. the bindings were adequate (didn't really like how
thin the toe strap was .. and how the instep strap crunches together
meaning that you lose a lot of the spread of pressure) .. this year I have
purchase the 156 3x .. ditched the bindings for the Bent Metal base
highbacks (oh what a binding) .. perfect board .. also australia received
the '97 boards .. so I'm riding the cutting edge *8^)

Brian:
I wasn't aware that Santa Cruz made bindings. . . can you tell be more
about them?? I've got a pair of Burton featherweights held on lay-away
but don't really know much about their action.

Just spent the last two days at Mt. Hood on this years 153cm xxx twin tip
(?) it was so light and so easy to turn I could not belive it.

BTW I am new to this sport and the last two days were my 2nd and 3rd time
out. What can I say I am stoked!! Can't wait for winter.

Santa Cruz makes super good boards. They have the best cores on the
market. The boards ride great. The new bindingsI hear are good, but if you
are going to buy a strap binding, you can beat Burton. If you look into
step-ins, it's Switch all the way.

Huh? XX and XXX are only distinctions that specify how wide the board
is. Those distinctions go across their entire product line. What board
are you talking about in Santa Cruz's product line?

Hi Oren:

I originally asked the question about the Santa Cruz. Perhaps I should
have been more specific.

Do you have any thoughts on a '96 151 Rider?

Of the boards with XX and XXX (now 2X and 3X) designations, there are
only three lines the single ender (T-Series), the twin-tail powder
(R-Series?) and the womens series (don't remember) which are extra
narrow.

So unless you are riding a womens board, you should be able to figure
out which one you mean by whether it is a powder board or not.

Only the special boards (Chris Roach) don't carry 2X and 3X designations.

Whoops, apparently the twin-tail powder is the H-series.
