can you explain a little more why K2 Fatbobs suck?
this kind of post is a little annoying because you dont really say
anything of any subjective or objective value.

Oww. that hurt. actually, i can't believe what would make u say that,

since my FAT BOB is the best ride of my life. it'll take anything i

can dish out, & handles really well. my experiences with barfoot weren't

even comparable to that. it's also great 4 my size 13 feet.

Here's to the guy who said that the K2 Fat Bob sucked, "buy a
Barfoot". I can understand brand loyalty; it seems that 95% of
boarders swear by the board they ride. Just don't tell people that
another board sucks unless you've ridden it and can support your
statement.

I don't ride the Fat Bob, but I've owned 2 brands in the last 3
years : Barfoot and K2. I won the Barfoot Estes "164" in a drawing
at a local shop and thought it was the greatest thing around. To
make a long story short, the thing was a piece of crap; the base was
warped, one of the edges didn't meet the base, and according to my
trusty tape measure it was a 154cm board with a 164cm topsheet. A
factory reject graciously given away to an unsuspecting beginner. I
wasted my first real year of riding on the thing.

So I stepped up the the '93 K2 AC 166 and had to relearn everything.
Once I was back up to speed there was no comparison; K2 knows how
to make a good board. Last year my shop notified me that K2 was
having some delam. problems on the '93s and was replacing them with
'94s; I got a newer, even better, board even though my '93 was in
top condition.

I trust K2 (& Burton, Sims, etc.) because I know they're going to
make good products and stand behind them. I can't say the same for
Barfoot.

There was a post sometime back giving a review of the Fatbob that someone
rented out west. He said to rocked in the powder, but once he got on
some hard pack, it was a very slow turn initiator. He didn't recommend
it for an all around board, but it worked great as a powder stick.

I have to agree that K2 makes excellent boards. My girlfriend, who only
rode alpine boards until last year, won an AC152 and started riding it
last season. This was the only board she rode, except when a race came
up. I started snowboarding last season after skiing for 16 years. I
started on a Mistral Emotion, then changed to a Kemper Andy Hetzel, which
was worlds better than the Mistral. Much better initiating turns and
carving. then I got a K2 Juju 158 which blew away the Kemper. the K2
was stiffer than the Kemper, and carved even better. I felt the K2
improved my riding quite a bit in the short time I got to ride it at the
end of the season.
