I've had an Aggression Assault for a season now, and I'm pretty happy with
it. However, I've noticed that Colorado snowboard shops don't tend to
carry them. I asked one person at a shop why that was (after all, I see
so many Always Buy Colorado bumper stickers around), and I was told,
"Well, to be frank, I've never seen one last more than a season."
Specifically, he said that Aggression boards tend to "delam" pretty
quickly. Can anyone else verify this? I'd like to know if this guy was
giving me the real deal, or just basing overgeneralizations upon limited
experience. I like my board just fine, but now I'm paranoid about
redrilling.

Lemme know what you've seen/heard. Thanks in advance.

Arland,

Aggression boards had a reputation for delaming, and the company was known
for not doing anything about it if you complained. People at the factory
had various excuses. Bad glue, the wrong temperatures in the presses, or
glue that was not designed for the materials being used in the boards.
Since Volant Skis acquired Aggression last spring no one really know how
the boards will work.

Al Davignon, Aggression's new General Manager says that all the presses
have been re-calibrated and that they're using much more uniform
production techniques. This may or may not mean better boards. One thing
you can depend on, is that if a new Aggression board breaks you can expect
the new owners to follow through with great customer service. They have
the money and the experience.

If you like their new board give it a try, then let us know how it
survives the season. If you're thinking about getting one of last year's
boards I'd steer clear even if the price is right.

Unfortunately, I already own last year's board. I got it at their "going
out of business" sale last October. It's held up pretty well over the
season (i.e., no sign of delamming), however, I'm pretty edgy about how it
will hold up over the next season. I'll just have to wait and see.
Thanks for all the info!

Dude! Just to let you know that when you type in all capitals it is the same
as yelling when talking.

Last month I purchased TransWorld Snowboarding Viedo #1
at my local snowboard shop for $9.95. This video was excellent,
so I called the 800 number on the box to subscribe to issues
#2 - #4 @ $27.95. The operator who answered told me that TWS
had decided not to sell their videos thru the mail, but
exculsively at snowboard shops. I opened up the November issue
of TWS and find a half-page ad for their viedo. They will sell
you issue #1 for $14.95 plus $4.00 shipping in the U.S. They
also give a schedule of availability for issues #2 - #4, but
no price. You can, however, subscribe to #2 - #4 with your
VISA or MasterCard!
I have also purchased a number of videos from Video
Action Sports in CA. They have several dozen videos in stock,
great sale prices on some of last year's titles, and offer a
hefty discount for buying 6 or more titles. Their phone number
is 1-800-727-6689.

I'm a little bewildered about something can someone clue me in?

I was visiting with Mike Estes today, and he showed me the graphic for
his 95 board drawn out on paper. He said that the board (from Luxury)
was due out at the first of December. He said that most of the major
manufacturers have new lines coming out in Dec. as well.

Isn't this a little early? I don't remember a mid season release last
year.

Am I bonkers or what?

By the way, the graphic was cool.

By the way, I now have a few photos on an FTP site. Please mail me if
you're interested.
