Any places close to Salmon Hills?

With Salmon Hills closed, are there any other places in that part of
NY state that do a comparable job of grooming for classic and skate? I
know there are places in the east of the state (Garnett Hill, Lapland
Lake and such), but for the amount and consistency of snow within 6
hours travel time from Central NJ that area can't be beat. Please
share your ideas.

Osceola, but apparently they haven't started grooming yet.
He's also got a decent shop with some pretty aggressive

One of the groomers at Osceola posted the following; (seems they are

Today all trails on the south side were groomed and track-set. It was
snowing lightly when I arrived, and skiing was great. The snow changed
to ice, then light rain. But then mid-afternoon, it changed back to
snow, and 2" fell quickly.

Sorry for the late reply - just saw the original post. As a longtime
Salmon Hills skier, I feel your pain! Osceola is the only other place
in the Tug Hill area with comparable grooming. That wasn't the case
in past years; SH used a Pisten Bully while Hugh at Osceola used (and
still uses) a snowmobile, so the skating lanes were smoother and
firmer and the tracks were pressed as only a PB can. But Hugh
acquired a new, heavier snowmobile and a new grooming implement last
season and it seems to have made a big difference. We've been there 3
times since they opened and the grooming has been very good each
time. The skating lanes are firm and much smoother than before and
the classic tracks looked firm and deep. Big improvement that lessens
the pain a bit. The trails at Osceola are fun and there are some
challenging hills. But I miss the lookout, Blue Thunder, Coey Hill,
etc.
