I can only talk about the violets: Rex Powergrip is easier
to apply, works in wet snow as well (and if you apply some
Blue on top, new snow won´t stick, either) - whereas Vauhti
Tehopito is IMHO cloddier than klister (in any case for a
klutz like me) and requires the wisdom of a more experienced
waxer in the above conditions.

Old snow, cold nights, warm sunny days? R.P. violet´s the way
to go!
BTW does anyone do left ski Vauhti/right ski Rex (or any
two different waxes) comparison tests?:-)

Nope, but i used REX Violet and Vauhti combination on the Vasaloppet.
I was a little concerned about the night beeing really cold so i
put some vauhti -1--6 on top at the edges of the REX "wax". REX violet
have the tendecy to be really hard under -8 degrees and looses it's grip
then but vauhti work under -10C.

In Ottawa? No idea! But a canadian shop sells Vauhti online:

I did a "mental wax job" in front of the TV, and I, too,
put the carrot/Orange Vauhti (fluoro, of course...) as
the top layer:-)
(I would have used Blue Tehopito and the cold Violet
underneath, which might or might not have been pretty
smart...which is why in real life I悲 ask at least one
wiser guy for a second opinion!))
BTW I have no idea how whoever did the wax job on
Mr Mannæ„€ skis could manage to give him "no glide" -
unless he went totally overboard on the grip wax
(for whatever reason).

Seconded.
