Do anyone know how to buy a toko thermo bag? I read that the price is
around $3000, so I doubt your average ski shop would be selling them.
This is a curiousity question not an attempt to get one. (yet)

The thermo bag is really neat.
You can ask a retailer that carries Toko to order it for you.
(I sell them in Canada, but can't ship it to the U.S.)
I expect it'd take about 1 week for the retailer to get it.

I think plans for building hot boxes (a hard-sided version of what the
Thermo bag sounds like) have been posted here from time to time,
although I would have to search the group archives to find them. I have
talked to Nat Brown about the construction of the one he uses, and it's
well within the skills even of those of us whose closest approach to
power tools is watching `Home Improvement' on TV. He has mentioned
making a product out of it but I don't think the plans have advanced
beyond shop talk.

SPeaking of do it yourself...

I am working on a home-made altitude chamber.
I have stolen two traffic barrels and duct taped them together, installed a
smallish trap door that I can reseal with duct tape when I enter and a shop
vac on a timer. I cut a hole to attach the hose to the traffic barrles and
duct taped it sealed shut. It kicks on ever minute or two and sucks out
about half of my air, creating a nice sleeping chamber approximating 12,000
feet.

All told it costs around $150.

My wife will not sleep in it with me however and does not like the sound of
the shop vac. It is kind of hard to sleep with the loud noise.

Contact Pioneer Sports in Heber City Utah. They are
the distributors for Toko in the U.S.
