No, just whirling around and controlled spin are two different things,
you'd get bored if you spin more 3 times in a roll, and it doesn't
take much skill to do that, that's why it isn't fun.

However, controlled spins are different story all together. The
previous clip showed two kinds of spin: one in "normal" (following the
"turn" of the curved path) entry at the apex, and the other is what I
call "tumbling turn," an outward spin 360 at the top/high-C of the
turn while maintaining the GS/long-turn line of skiing to exit,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvCPj10NAUc

These maneuvers require the upmost awareness of the turning/spinning
forces (the combined force of the centripetal force, the centrifugal
force, and gravity), delicate balance, total control of the whole skis
(not just edges), and the line that skis travel. Come with the
heightened awareness, spinning is thrilling, care-free, so it is fun.
It may sound simple, but few can do it smoothly. Here's another look
at the spinning in normal speed,

While those of us with English as a first language will only require a
cursory knowledge of children to get this joke, I suspect it will not
translate well and Itchie will just plain "not get it".

Course that hardly makes it any different from anything else people have
told him...

Carry on.

I hardly ever look at anything you post. It all seems like shit that
anyone with 100 days of skiing in their lives could do. Yet you
present it like it's difficult. Why don't you ever show pics of deep
powder, tight trees, air, straight lines and speed in the bumps?

Maybe on your 2nd 100 days?

If you can do an elementary front cross over first, ie place your left
ski in front of your right boot and put your left ski down on the snow
on the right side, then pull you right leg through behind you into the
Rouel position, all while doing 2- 360 degree spins. Or, lift your
left leg into 90 degrees of pure sideways abduction with the left ski
in the air straight up and down, then internally rotate the left hip,
and tuck the left ski behind the right leg while starting a spin to
the right then while spinning, insert the left ski in from behind up
onto the right side, put your weight on that ski, then drag your right
ski tip (which is on the left side) outwards, using the drag to induce
a spin to the left.

Taichi - I think you ski well enough, and are young enough (what, about
60?) to try some real terrain. Get yourself a beacon (learn to use it,)
shovel, probes, emergency gear, jerky; stuff it all (except the beacon -
you wear that on your body) in that knapsack you wear, find a
like-minded buddy, and try some beyond the boundary skiing. There's
plenty out there to learn, the shear beauty is good for the soul, and
it'll keep you busy till you grow old and decrepit at which point you
can move back to the groomed like the 90 year olds around here.

P.S. I forgot - you'll also need poles for the hikes; you can strap them
to your pack if you really need to ski without them.

P.S.S. Spins are silly-easy on twin tips; you want to find some old
straight 200cm+ skis with a true flat tail and then spin yourself dizzy
- in this case the difficulty is in the tool.

Yeah, I used to do this when I was young and dumb,
as did all of us. Then one of the "us" did it,
buried both tails, came to an immediate STOP with
two torn ACL's. I don't do it any more unless I
have twin tips. Then my buddies behind me complain
about the rooster tail they are skiing into.

I did stuff like that the first year I skied just to see if I could. It didn't
seem like anything special at the time and still doesn't.

The clip is showing the "slow motion."

> Better than stopping.

Yup, that's how/what most people can do--whirling around--but what I
was talking about were controlled spins, spin at the apex and the top
of a turn while doing a S-turn, so you have to deal with the spinning
force for the spin as well as the turning force for your turn, and all
these forces are invisible, to coordinate them to ski like water flows
is quite challenging, and that's what thrilling of spin all about.

> I hardly ever look at anything you post. It all seems like shit that

That's your lost. Yes, it is difficult if you can do it at the
"cruising" speed,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwBG67NVaJQ

and it is more difficult if you can do it ad-hoc.

> Why don't you ever show pics of deep powder, tight trees,
> air, straight lines and speed in the bumps?

Yes, I did, but you gappers don't know how to read them. You gappers
don't read beyond the images, and have no idea on how those invisible
forces act on the human body. And a good footage is hard to come by.

> Maybe on your 2nd 100 days?

Here's one of my encounters related to spinning: I was "formation
skiing" with my "no-name" skiing buddy. At an intersection where
trails merge, a beginner lady who just got out of the chairlift,
staggering straight down to her boyfriend, across our path. My buddy
sped up crossed her path before her, and she run straight down to me,
and her boyfriend was yelling "brake, brake..." and she started to
scream and came straight to my face, I spun out of her path and
continued "formation skiing" with my buddy without missing a beat,
left her boy cheered in amaze. No, this kind of moment you don't
usually catch it on video.

Fancy, but no, I don't do ballet/acro skiing, my skiing is called
"Taichi Skiing," and it's in martial art discipline--defensive skiing--
turn at any time, in any direction and any condition.

Here's another story about this maneuver: I was doing bumps on a steep
blue trail, a hot shot instructor was chasing behind me, turn for
turn, which was good, then the trail steepened, he missed his turn and
no longer "followed" my line but came straight down cross my line, and
we came to face to face collision. I stopped my forward momentum, did
a switch and spun away and continue skiing without missing a beat. And
that's what I spin for.

As I said, you ski too hard; been there, done that, I don't work that
hard for my turns anymore.

Good skiing is where I can make perfect turns, and once out of groomed
trails, inbound and out-of-bound skiing don't really make that much a
difference in "Sierra" skiing to me. No, there's nothing out there to
learn on my way of skiing/Taichi Skiing anymore. And Heavenly does
have the best "killer view" of Lake Tahoe around.

Actually, I can go wherever you poled-skiing can go.

I still keep a couple of maneuvres in my repertoire even at 56 yrs of age
(today) Come on up to Marmot Basin..
Just teasing you dude, your spins are pretty ethereal. I did like them.

BTW collisions no good. I betcha your respective energies had some kind of
strange interactive query about 5 seconds prior to impact. It's what
subatomic particles do also. They have "intelligence" just like the human
field.

He's just boasting about his superiority over everyone else in the world, as

Thanks. It looks like we've got ourselves a real gem in the group,
welcome; glad that you are not a gappers, they are no fun.

Ski Canadian Rockies is really nice, but the weather is too cloudy for
me. How about ski the sunny California? :)

That's quite true, as a martial artist, I always "feel" my
surrounding, and I ski as a martial art practice. As the time goes on,
the "feeling" develops the "intelligence" on its own, so the body
responds to the change spontaneously. That's the thrilling of the
skiing I'm really skiing for.

The best way to avoid collisions in a confined area where the two
skiers ski at a compatible speed is to follow the front skier's line/
track, same track guarantees pretty much the same speed. Any deviation
will lead to scissoring, to figure 8, and eventually, face to face
collision, if one or both skiers cannot maintain their turns. But when
I do that, people (like Bob F kind) think I'm showing off. Go figure.

:)

The force is invisible, so is the momentum, and certain movements
cannot be done without the adequate momentums; your "hinge-door" joint
movements would only destroy it.

In no-mind, totally relaxed, "the perfection that we experienced is
not ours but the making of the nature," what force do you think
generates this image?

I'm a gem because I am generally agreeable? I think you have a neat idea for
instructors. As far as anyone laming you, just ignore if it bothers you in
any way. They are nice people enjoying their internet fun. Nothing's
serious.

Inner skier dude, that's where it's at alpha or approx 10 cps EEG activity.
Many with various stages of adreneline or high beta addictions don't
normally go there. Probably more than represented here in this newsgroup.
Of course one can look beyond the visual in your skiing. I think your
detractors are just pretending to choose not to.

As a life long team sport athlete, I learned spacial awareness and how
to judge movement in games.
Which comes in handy every once in a while.
My ski partner last week never played football or basketball. On
empty slopes, he would frequently come uncomfortably close because he
does not have the skills of spatial perception I do. Got a bit hairy
when we were on a cat track traverse to a chair and for some random
atom reason, he decided to pull right and stop. Right in front of
me. He got lucky, a run dropped off to the right, and I bounced
through a bump field rather than t-bone him.
I prefer to ski with ex-jocks rather than the outdoorsy types who got
picked last for sports involving a ball (which fits most of the
pussies in this newsgroup). More unconcious awareness of the people
around them.
As for the martial arts comparison, I'd say bullshit unless you
habitually take on more than one person, and you ain't Jackie Chan.
I've had a lot of experience and a lot of training in violence, and
while much of it involved awareness of your surroundings, virtually
none of that awareness applies to skiing. Unless, of course, you're
talking about snowboarders, much like walking through a crime ridden
neighborhood.

You stupid fucking puck catching idiot, I make an informed post about
spatial awareness during movement, and you gotta conflate it into the
BMOC bullshit.
Which is absolute bullshit. No brags, no ego, just a flat, factual
statement that I have played ball sports that demand spatial awareness
of others for my entire life....and was pretty fucking good at them,
but I didn't mention it. Idiot. Dumbfuck.
As a puck catcher, you would not understand, because you don't move in

Make up another whopper, dumbfuck. Nobody ever had the balls to laugh
at me to my face. Especially Kerrison and her buddies. Period.
Didn't happen. Period.
Indeed, as I remember, I was laughing MY ass off at that stupid bitch
and her buddies. To their face. In person. After this terminal
intermediate flat embarassed the BBOC (Big Bitch On Campus) in the
gates and a downhill race.
You're so fucking stupid, so invested trying to rationalize your
delusions, that you (and others) took a satirical, ironic shtick and
tried to make an ongoing source of amusement (to me and many others)
into a real desire to dominate this shithole. Which is ludicrous and
laughable. Just like you.
Go fuck yourself again, wack job.
Hey, come to think of it, YOU could have laughed in my face at
Whistler. But you didn't have the balls, and you've been making
excuses for your cowardice ever since.

LOLAY. Laughing out loud at you. Which I would damn well do in

As a man who has plenty of experience in the REAL world, a one on one
encounter teaches you nothing about the movement of many people.
Which you would know if you hadn't bullshitted about your own supposed
martial arts experience.

No, methinks that you're a gem because: 1) you have the knowledge and
experience to appreciate my "ethereal" spins; 2) *admitting* that you
like them (praise something that taichiskiing does), that's quite a
"courageous action" in this group; 3) put them together, methinks that
you probably would say things true to the events. Gappers here only
know denial.

No, I don't consider that those gappers are "nice people enjoying
their internet fun," nice people don't do things to have fun at
expense of other people being humiliated, that's what bully does, so
they are just bunch 'net bullies. They are annoying, but for they lack
of integrity, it doesn't bother me, I'll just treat them as they treat
other, that's called "their ways to themselves." I think that's fair
enough.

Not sure what "alpha or approx 10 cps EEG activity" is, nevertheless,
your "spirit Chi" is right on as the "inner skiing" goes. Spirit
reflects the inner will, and Chi is the inner energy that drives/moves
our bodies, so Taichi Skiing is to "use will to wield the Chi, and use
Chi to drive the body/muscles and bones" to balance an external force--
gravity—in the balance of man and gravity, Taichi Skiing strives.

As I said, real high level skiing, any sport for that matter, is all
mental; they/gappers cannot see it, so they cannot do it, and they
cannot do it so they cannot see/understand it. Some of them may choose
not to see it, but most likely they just don't have the knowledge to
phantom it.

Sorry Ichin, English police here. The last sentence above should
read, "Some of them may choose not to see it, but most likely they
just don't have the knowledge to fathom it." 'Phantom' is something
else quite different.

apologize.

That's what normal people do, Scottie.

You lied. Period. You get your "understanding" from your own insane

Normal people don't make up such ridiculous lies, wack job. But you
wouldn't know that, since you're not normal. Just a mentally ill

Agreed. It's not often you hear the word "phantom" used as a verb. I
believe that usage is restricted to my former profession. e.g. "Steve,
could you please phantom the overheads."

IOW, I have the knowledge and the equipment necessary to phantom things.
Most people don't.

I think I will start using that verb to describe the craven cowards of
RSA who claim to have seen me in real life.
None of them ever had the nads to introduce themselves, unfortunately.
They phantomed. Sorta like Depends Boi Eric Leonard did in Fry's, or
Dickless David Hobbs at Crystal, or Wack Job Waldron at Green Lake, or
some other freak at Crystal. Did a phantom. Disappeared in plain
sight, other than the trail of piss they left behind them.

Nope. You have not ever explained why my replying to you makes me a
"stalker" but you replying to me doesn't do the same for you.

But if you believe differently, I'll accept a link to the post where
you explained it...

When did I ever state that no one has threatened your life, Scottie. I
don't believe anyone has, but that belief is something I'm entitled to
hold and stating it doesn't make me a liar.

His detractors are responding to his never ending name calling, boasting, and
claims of superiority with no basis in fact. Many of us have tried to get
rational explanations for his claims, to no avail. Everyone that responds to him
with any questions obout his claims immediately become "gappers" and more. Good
luck being the nice gut to him. Try to get real info from him and see how long
it lasts.

Momentum is mass times velocity so it's always visible.Expert skiers
can appreciate what you're doing perfectly well, it's not rocket
science or esoteric mumbo-jumbo.

Nice formula, but no, it only describes a "behavior" of the object,
but not momentum/force itself. In a straight line motion, centripetal
force doesn't exist, so is the centrifugal force; however, once the
motion moves out the straight line, both centripetal force and
centrifugal force come to exist at the same time. How do they happen?
Yes, it is the rocket science, and is known throughout the physics
community; only layman thinks that as esoteric mumbo-jumbo.

So, "Expert skiers can appreciate what you're doing perfectly well,"
but you non-experts can only do your own "esoteric mumbo-jumbo"?

Of course, given that you don't dare to "admit" that you are skier,
anything I do on skis will probably be a boasting to you.

A close encounter would be one where you got close to me, Depends
Boi. You hid. Ran. Dumped a load in your pants.
Here's a clue, beetch. I'm not worried about running into you freaks
for two reasons: None of you could take me on the best day of your

enough. As sure as the sun rises in the morning, you freaks will do

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww, Dickless Emergency Soccer Game Boi, are you trying to
negotiate? Bugs you that the truth gets told about you?
Tell you what, you stupid freak. You had a lot of fun making up and
repeating the slur that I used an Emergency Softball Game to avoid
meeting a freak who would not identify himself, expected me to show up
not knowing what he/she looked like, set a time and place and expected
me to take the word of a stalking pathological liar, etc. Of course,
the freak never showed when I told the freak I had a makeup softball
game. I gave a full day of notice, including the time and the place.
Had a lot of fun, eh, Dickless Henry? So am I.
You will pardon me if I use the same tactic you used, with a helluva
lot more accuracy. You chickened out on coming to Seattle for an
EMERGENCY SOCCER GAME!!!!!!!!!
Tell you what, freak. You show up and spew your shit in person, and I
will no longer call you a coward, a psychopath, a stalker, a freak, a
blowhard fraud, and Dickless Henry. Until that time, EMERGENCY SOCCER

Especially considering that HE promised to meet Henry in Seattle, then

Especially you, you dickless stalking freak.

Wrong again, freak. I could. But I won't play your game. YOU are
the one making excuses for your cowardice and dickless lack of any
manhood.

Yes, you are frightened. Totally terrified, and we both know it. For
damn sure, I can and will bully you if I ever see you in person, and
there won't be a fucking thing you can or would do about it.
EMERGENCY SOCCER GAME!!!!!!!!!

Sure. In person. Bluff called. Hey, do they play soccer in the
winter? Bet you suddenly found out that you're scheduled for games
every day through 2012.

EMERGENCY SOCCER GAME!!!!!!!

Not can't, freak. Won't. You know you are lying, I know you are
lying, everybody knows you are lying.
How embarassing for you. Not only did you run and hide, but now you
have to keep trying to cover up the reality of your profound and
public embarassment.
You're almost as much fun as Depends Boi Leonard.
EMERGENCY SOCCER GAME!!!!!!!!!

Whistler Boi jumps in to defend another craven coward who pussied out
on spewing his crap in person.
Ah, this is rich. Same answer.
Go fuck yourself, coward.
