I've got a pair of Smith goggles whose foam has rotted away. Smith can't
fix 'em.

Anybody know who might be able to replace the foam on goggles?

TIA,

John

DIY. Self adhesive draught excluder strip should do it.

Wouldn't it just be easier to buy a new pair of goggles?

Anyway, I have a pair of Scott goggles where the face sealing foam
disintegrated over time and due to intensive use almost every day (both
snowmobiling and skiing).
I found similar foam in suitable thickness sold in sheets in a ironware
shop. Then I took a sheet of paper and made a cutting template (by
drawing carefully after the edges of the goggles), cutted the sheet of
foam using the cutting template and a thin pen knife, and glued it on
the goggles.
Actually, and even if I still have those repaired goggles, I did however
end up buying a new pair of goggles the next season.

What? All this time and you never lost them?

Goggles aren't just for wearing, you know. They're for leaving in
bathrooms and ski lodges and cars and restaurants, and for coming off in
a crash and forgetting to retrieve. Show those poor goggles some
respect.

Nope, goggles are for wearing backwards so that they hold your hat on your
head.
Don't you know anything?

ps, if you can't find the foam you need call Race Place, they have an 800
number. They use the stuff as packing material and I'm sure they would
send you some. I have tons.

The cure to this is: use cheap goggs. You are guaranteed never to lose
them. No one will pinch them. They will be with you til they are old and
battered. I use those $40 Scott ones with the gooey stuff on the inner
lense. Fogging is endemic in Oz as it's humid-er and warmer, but so long
as you keep these things on (and never on your forehead), they don't
fog. And when you are tired of the colour (or they are a bit scratched
and orrible) you give the shop person $40 and you get a new pair. Magic.
