Just about every year I head up to Whistler right after Thanksgiving. Just because I can. And I can this year. The Lesburu is loaded. Three pairs of rock skis on the rack (damned if I didn't stumble on a perfect rocker yesterday when I was donating some old clothes to Goodwill), ten year old Blizzards with an 86 waist.
Perfect. Fills a hole in the rock ski collection, I gave my RTM 84's to an old friend. Taking the new boots with me, will have a real pro adjust the cant and flex, but will ski the old ones first.
New ski outfit, we'll see how waterproof it is Wednesday, methinks. Thursday and Friday look good. Epic Pass, no worries about tickets. Tested neg (something tells me Huggies didn't get vaccinated. Is that why he disappeared? Couldn't happen to a nicer guy).
Just in case Mad Dog Alan Baker is reading:
Thursday. Information tower outside the Roundhouse. You know where it is, and you knew where it was when you pussied out the first time. 12 noon. I'll look for a guy standing in a pool of piss snow. Though I suspect I will ski right up to have lunch, plans are to be hanging out with a retired RCMP friend, will be nice to have an impeccable witness.
