Forget hoses and fans. They just drive up the price and lack portability.
Try the "hot feet" warmers--not to be confused with the warmers to to worn
while skiing. There are several brands under differrant names. Many
shops carry them and some catalogs. Consist of two probes about the size
of your thumb and a common electric plug. Will dry boots over night and
warm them in thirty minutes. Cost is $15-25 so you can afford as many as
you need and still be cheaper than the heavy duty units. I've used mine
for three years and never had a problem except plugging in to a condo
outlet that was on a switch which someone turned off with the lights that
night!!!!

The best one I have seen has two low wattage (7 watts) elements shaped
like a small foot that go in the boot. It is very compact and needs no
fan. Costs $30 and is sold by Calebs and Early Winters. Look then up on
the net.
Good Ol' Ed
The low heat dosn't seem to hurt the boots.
Sorry, that was Cabela's, not Calebs. They are in Sidney NE, the phone
is 800/237/4444. Big mail order house. They have a lot of interesting
stuff if you hunt, fish, or ski in clammy cold boots.
Good Ol' Ed again.
They serve Buffalo burgers in there in house resurant.
Happy trails.
