I bought a pair of unused skis on Ebay.

What would reasonable bindings be for them? (I ski all trails (but only
trails) at moderate speed; machine groomed, powder is real rare).
A few different brands/models would be helpful.
About what should it cost to have the bindings mounted at a local shop?

I don't want to spend any more on bindings than I have to, but don't want
buy junk that will make the skis pointless either. Thanks.

Unused bindings?

I mean, for a generic unused ski, no brand name or model name
given...

Dynastar recommend Look Pivot 12 Autodrive Lifter bindings for this ski.
(Look make bindings for Rossignol so this binding is also known as the
Rossignol Axial Power 120).

These are not cheap bindings. Dynastar/Look claim that they are best solution
but I have seen plenty of other bindings in use with this ski.

Thanks for the information. Would the somewhat less expensive P10 be
appropriate? What is the difference anyhow; except for a small difference
in DIN ratings they look the same.

I do not see any reason why not. They both "lift" the heal by the same amount
(6mm). I think all the Pivot lifter series would be OK. The MaxPlate variants
lift the heal higher so would not be equivalent and may interfere with the
"Autodrive". I am no expert. I would not use the cheaper Nova series.

Although they may be the same exact binding, Rossignol biindings won't work as
well as Look on Dynastar skis, as Look bindings don't work as well on Rossi
skis.. I think the skis know that the incorrect binding is installed... :)

Yes, and by no means ever try to combine Japanese bindings with European
skis, they are incompatible and will sound terrible.

I think that the Dynastar Speed Carve 63 requires Look bindings. (I may
be wrong about this, but you should definitely find out before buying
your bindings) As to which Look to get, you're on your own.

FWIW, this is a darn fine ski. In the top three of all the skis I
demoed this season.
