It's at Heavenly going down the Orion trail.

Is the tree still there? Did they cut it down?
Does anyone know the exact spot? Yes, I want to go in there and
find it. Although I won't be going that fast through the trees, in
fact I'll walk.
Thanks.
It is there. Rub the bark and it sings I got you, Babe.

Dickless Henry does. In memory of Sonny, every year he gives a branch
a bj.
I heard they cut it down because of too many people standing around
taking pictures and videos, and creating an unsafe obstruction.
Yes, I believe it is gone. Not much of a run on the video
Hey, did Sonny post to Usenet as TreeGozinya?
Damn, I'm funny.
My understanding is that they cut it down, for exactly that reason.

I figured that, was just wondering.
I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to find the spot. Start down the
Orion trail, go a little ways, then head right towards the trees.
I'll take off my skis and walk through the middle.
Here, look at this trail map. It's 3 megs to load, but shows more
detail.

The thing is, all the reports talk about him being on the Orion trail
under the ski lift. They don't mention that he was on the Dipper
Bowl, which is the black diamond trail. But that's the trail that is
under the lift. So where did he eat it? Between Orion and Dipper
Bowl? I'm thinking that right after he made the right turn on
Orion, he realized he meant to go down Dipper Bowl, and headed through
the trees.
I'm surprised no one has re-created the run he would have taken.
That YouTube video is the closest thing I've even seen to someone
pointing out where it happened. I want someone to go down the Orion
trail, and go through the trees with the same path. It doesn't have
to be at black diamond speed, just show us what happened.
Someone needs to bust the myth that a James Bond style hit squad
killed him. That's just ridiculous.
What myth? And why would anyone want to kill him anyway?
RSA regulars killed Sonny Bono. He was one of the Bobs and was
telling the truth about all of you.
Considering how many death threats you guys have made, I'm shocked
that you have not paid a tree to kill me.

Good job. Quite correct. It's also relative. The same MPH might be
batshit crazy for one and boring, phone in one hand, drink in the
other speed.

Not a tree, but I've got a hockey stick that wants the job.

Bob, Bob. You have to stop drinking while driving. Most people don't
have a drink in their hand, but we all know about you.

If you knew what a hockey stick was, you wouldn't be laughing,
asshole.
I'm from Detroit, dumbass. I grew up with a hockey stick.
Vote for Palin-Brown dumbass. Repeal the nightmares.
I'm from Deseronto. We make the fuckers there. Don't fuck with me about
hockey doobie-ass. I am CANADIAN.

I agree with your statement about "BDS" being "slow". I think that
what I think of "BD" it's really what is labeled double BD or Red. So
even slower. But the rest of my comment was an expansion on the topic
not a rebuttal.

I'd say that there is. The weekend warrior, ala you know who, leans
back, arms out, a millimetre from explosion. The more brute force they
try to use, the less the control. And what's weird to me is that their
actual speed is probably only in the low 30's.
An accomplished skier. Say......on a 207 GS ski. One that can roll
edge to edge, ride flat skis confidently, but also a millimetre from
disaster, just not as likely to get there, probably reaches speeds
somewhere in the 50's. It's the finesse. Letting the skis do their
work and having control over it.
