Does anyone out there know of any good u/w photo newsgroups?

No, there isn't one as far as I know. BUT, the idea of starting one
would be great. we can post our pictures there and exchange stories
about photo gear and such. If you or anyone would like to start one,
let me know. I am all for it.

There isn't one, but there is a listserv that is quite active. Try this
address for the uw photo list: majo...@world.std or do a net search on
"uw photo".

While it is appropriate to post scuba images to that group (and I have
done so) you'll find posts there that really stretch the imagination
when you try to figure out how they relate at all to
.picturs.sports.ocean. If you're looking to view pics, do a net search
for web pages that have galleries of uw stuff. If you want to show off
some pics, put them on a web page and then refer to it by posting or
indexing with some of the search engines. Or check out the uw photo list
for more advice.

Try alt.binaries.images.underwater.

It is not widely carried. It contains more underwater nudity than scuba,
but then again, it will contain whatever people post there. Scuba photos are
welcome, even encouraged. And there is very little spam.
