On the other hand, lots of people wear shoes made in Communist China.

And mine fields and automately triggered guns and dogs and watch towers
and fence and....

The wall became the symbol for it because it was most prominent visible.
If they would have used glas instead of concrete it would have liked
more to a monkey cage in a zoo...
