For a real challenge, bring the entire pumpkin down. Cut the top off
and empty the innards underwater.

BTDT. Also done in the Puget Sound, with large, hungry critters, dry
gloves, and current. We do the whole pumpkin (ling cod and rockfish in
particular love the guts) and you can use only a dive knife.

Same thing in Lake Travis, only it's cats, big mouth and bream (who
usually wind up feeding the other two). Of course, lately the saying
has been "80 is the new 50". The lake is up about three feet right
now and they're letting water out of the Highland Lakes so it should
come up. Some.

The cheaters (like me) slip the pumpkins in mesh bags with about 20
pounds of weight. Once the sucker is open and flooded, no problem.
Always fun to watch others. Some of whom have seen the rest of us
year after year.

It would be more interesting to see what sort of pumpkins they might
create at 190 ft or so on air so that a bit of narcosis could add to
their creativity... <grin>
