This has come up before. You can go to a NAUI instructor and get them
to apply for a new C card for you. It shouldn't cost you more than
about $10-$20 or so. (Look in your phone book for a NAUI shop if you
can't find a NAUI instructor.) But 7 years without diving, well, that
is just a long time. Since you already have been certified, you can
take a refresher course, which typically consists of a single lecture
or a video, and a single dive. Now if you have a good memory, this
might be all you need, but just having done your certification dives
is really not long enough to learn new habits. And some percentage of
what they've been teaching in he diving courses has changed over the
last seven years.
The thing for you to do is to talk to an instructor, and discuss your
skills with them, and the type of diving you plan on doing, one on
one. You have one more option: You could take an advanced course.
This would give you some additional classroom training (depending on
the instructor) and would also allow you to do some diving under an
instructor's supervision.

oh, and the diver's flag sign
I guess I'll check out the local dive shop.
Hey, what time of year is best to buy gear? If ab season is over, does
that mean that business will be slow, and that now would be a good time
to find sales?
