I wanted to do this on our campout last month and was disappointed
to find very little ready-to-go info on the web. What I did was
to just make a list, something like this:
- Evidence of a large mammal
- Evidence of a small mammal
- Evidence of a bird
- Evidence of a reptile
- A plant that grows only in water
- A plant that grows in a meadow (I knew we were going to a meadow)
- A plant that grows in a forest
- A white wildflower
- A purple wildflower
... etc ...
I printed the list and put it inside a gallon sized ziplock bag. Since I
knew there would be LOTS of elk scat, I included a quart sized ziplock
bag and instructed them to put any scat in the smaller bag, and showed
them how to pick up the scat by turning the baggie inside-out, so they
didn't have to soil their hands.
It went pretty well. This was done at a campout in the mountains. I
did find one on the web that was intended for "around the neighborhood."
Here is one that I used before..... I hope that it helps.

Each group gets a sheet with lines lettered from A to Z. They have to
find as many things as possible that start with each letter of the
alphabet.
But it is not that easy. At the end, they have to look at the list of
things for A and pick out the item that they think no other group has
found and circle, same for B, etc. For example, if they have ACORD and
ARDVARK they would probably circle ARDVARK (except in Texas, I imagine).
When their sheets are graded, they get a point if they are the only
group that found and circled that item for a given letter. Top score is
26, high score wins.
