I have ordered many times mail order running gear. This is the first
time that I have been disappointed and CHEATED!

A Company in Minneapolis called Moss Brown manufactures it's own
running products ( shorts, tops, hats, running suits, etc.) And much
of it is sold on line as Mossbrown.com or via a catalog. In August I
ordered a terrific running suit from them via the phone. I billed it
to my American Express card and was billed 3 weeks later. 6 weeks
later I was again billed on my American Express card for the same
suit. Unfortunately for me, I did not catch it and paid the bill to
American Express. When I got my year end statement from American
Express I noticed the double charge. I called Moss Brown numerous
times and left messages on their answering machine. I sent them 2
e:mail messages, one on February 25th, one on March 7th, NO REPLY.
They never returned my phone calls. I contacted American Express and
they can not help me as it is past the normal 60 days they tell me
that they can investigate. I wrote a letter to Moss Brown on March 22
and included all the paperwork backing up my claim to double billing.
NO REPLY! I called them again this past week and their phone number
was changed, and I got the answering maching again. They have dropped
their e:mail address from their web site. All this and after 3 months
they shipped me the hood for the suite that I orderd from them prior
to discovering this problem. The last e:mail I got from someone named
Hank said the hood would be shipped in 10 days to 2 weeks. IT TOOK 3
MONTHS! GREAT SERVICE!

I am not giving up on settling this mess with them. ORDER FROM MOSS
BROWN AT YOUR OWN RISK!

When I ordered a running suit from Moss Brown 3 years ago, they charged
my credit card twice. It thought it was a mistake, but given your
experience it looks like it might have been intentional. I refused to
pay the second charge and my credit card company got their money back
from Moss Brown. I received my running suit over 1 year after I
ordered it. I telephoned Moss Brown a few times and was told that my
running suit would come in a few weeks. Moss Brown had my payment
for a year before sending my suit, but they didn't pay me interest.
I like my Moss Brown running suit and would buy another one, if I
trusted Moss Brown.

hello
buddy pals mates friends i need some help here i am am desperate
really

here is the situation i am 30 and have just took up running i am
going to do a 10k run in October for charity so i got on the treadmill and
i have managed to get up to 6 miles a hour constant for 3 miles no
problem there , i have been going a month i go up to 7.5 and back down
etc i can run at 11 mph.
i have been to circuit class today and skipping was hurting my shins and
the warm up as well.

the problem is i get pains in my shins if i run fast, is ther a trainer
that takes all the weight of me on the front of my foot as thats where my
weight goes,if i run by putting all my weight through my heels i find it
better but hard to do because.

i am 280lbs nearly 20 stone and i body builder and i have had a broken
back pelvis and ribs 3 years ago and now have 1 leg shorter than than the
other i have over come that problem by putting a wedge in my shoe or i
can get them raised by the hospital which ever.

and i need to lose weight as well so this is perfect if i can over come
this problem

1 more how do i get rid of stitches which i get now and again i have
to slow right down if i get a stitch..

so the main question is what trainers do i need i know i need trainers
for a heavy man but is there any thing else to look at ?

thanks for any advice in advance.

It's a matching set but the bottom is usually
pants. :)

Hi! I would suggest you become a heel striker and not run from the balls
of your feet(causing your shin pain from a shortened gastrocnemius
muscle). To stretch your gastrocnemius: Stand on a step with the ball of
your feet and let your heel drop slowly keeping your knee straight. Once
you have maximized your calf stretch in this way, allow your knee to
bend 20-30degrees this will stretch your gastrocnemius muscle( one of
the calf muscles that supports the arch of your foot which is causing
you calf pain). If you are currently experiencing muscle/calf pain you
probably should be icing the shin for 20 mins. 2-3 times/day. Do your
gastrocnemius stretch before and after running each day. I wouldn't go
running until you are out of the woods regarding the shin pain. Don't
take antiinflammatories(NSAIDS-Ibuprofen,motrin, etc. since they
block prostaglandin synthesis which is necessary for healing(although
they do block the pain) you will be delaying healing. No aspirin either.
If you can find a health food store try Bromelain 600GDU (3 caps twice a
day). This is a natural antiinflammatory from the pineapple plant which
doesn't inhibit prostaglandins. Try is for a week, start running and
still take the Bromelain for one more week. Best of luck, Dr.Paul
