Terry Williams
Is this *the* Terry Williams, former Lompoc, CA HS great?

The morning of the race I was quite surprised to find out that the subway
wasn't operating in time to get me to the race site -- didn't matter,
there were *many* other marathoners who also walked to the subway station,
and groups got together to take a cab. Cost only a few bucks each. After
the race, simply took the subway back to within a few blocks of the hotel.
I only walked through the hotel district near the marathon start, but it
appeared that if you want to enjoy DC as well as the race, staying in the
city itself is a better choice.
Good luck!

Roslyn or Crystal City are reasonably close, and both have
many hotels. Since the Metro runs near the start/finish,
anyplace on a Metro line would work well.

I have always stayed at the Sheraton National which is the host hotel.
They provide race day shuttle to and from the Pentagon where the busses
are to bring you to/from the start/finish.
All the other hotels on the list also provide shuttle service.
