Does anybody have any information or experience regarding the resumption
of training having been diagnosed as having Glandular Fever.

Is a further blood test necessary?

Any info much appreciated.

I had glandular fever in June 1992. I didn't run at all for 3 months and in
fact had to virtually give up running until autumn of 1993. From time to
time until 1995 I would feel lousy and so thought it had returned.

I went for a few retests but these showed up nothing much even if I felt
lousy. I remember the doctor saying it is virtually unheard of to 'catch'
glanduar fever twice. Trouble is, even if you do test positive, there is no
cure - just rest - time eventually heals.

I also remember being told that the road to recovery is not always linear
but can be one of highs and lows - that was certainly the case for me.

To be honest since then I don't think I've ever had the form I did
beforehand. I've broken most of my pbs since having glandular fever but some
others including my 1500 and 10K time still stand.

Good luck.

Glandular fever (mononucleosis) is known to produce lengthy tiredness
afterwards.
