Since when did someone advertising a race be it two days from now or 6
months from now become spam? I would rather know about a race way in
advance then after it is closed. Maybe your races allow race day sign-up but
many others demand that you sign-up many months in advance.

If you want to bitch about off topic take you best shot. When it's about
running save your arrogance.

If it looks like spam and it smells like spam ... it's probably ...
spam ...

Bad day at the ranchero?

Not exactly as if you are contributing here much lately but then you
need to toss in the bitch and arrogance words?

Seems like my original response here is on target and accurate and
reasonably polite ... just calling em likes I sees em ...

Announcing a future running race in a nearly-dead running newsgroup
hardly seems like spam to me.

So do we want this newsgroup to become the new center of the universe
where runners go to look and find races?

Not likely to happen ...

Personally ... no matter how well one keeps a computer protected and
up to date with security software etc ... clicking on links one is not
familiar with ... not recommended.

One has to wonder about the motivations of people submitting stuff
like this here. Maybe they are clean and fine ... or maybe they go to
a site that might have been hacked and taken over.

Just my opinion here.

Then ignore it. Your nose often smells conspiracy when there isn't one.

Nope just tired of you making snap judgments and often out of line. You seem
to have some opinion on how and who can post about what. if you have some
opinion or set of values on how a running forum should be run, then by all
means create your own. You can have your own rec.running.acoording-to-Hurley
and be it's moderator. Wow total control, In the mean time save you smart
snarky ass remarks.

#Not exactly as if you are contributing here much lately but then you

So because I get busy and don't post much I'm now lesser of a person? I use
those terms to get your attention since you seem to be playing god. I've
been on here for 20 or so years.

#Seems like my original response here is on target and accurate and

On target for what? Accurate? You're so far off in this case and too self
absorbed to admit it. Rush Limbaugh does the same ready, fire, aim, but
that doesn’t make him any less of an ass-hole.

If you want or expect this group to grow then then stop " calling em likes
I sees em ..." cuz it makes you a pompous ass.

By the way, I'm having a rather fine day.

Earth to John, Ohio is slightly off the beaten path. Not belabor the issue
but there are races that have fixed # of participants and they very often
come up on the score board many months in advance and sell out fast. Half
of my races sell out 6 months in advance. You may not have that problem
where you live but I can assure you, it's more frequent that you may think.
I know they're marathons but how about Boston or NYC and I'll bet hundreds
of others.

No related to us but in the tri world, the following year often sells out
the day after the race. That’s a year in advance.
