Cal International Race Packets

I just found a web page about this year's Cal International Marathon in
Sacramento, CA on 12/8/96.

I'm annoyed that there is no mailing of race packets and there is no
race day pickup. You have to attend a running expo on 12/7/96 to get
your packet. All I really want is my number! I'll get the shirt after
the race.

This represents an undue hardship on SF Bay Area runners. I was
planning on a 2 hour drive to the start the morning of the race. Now it
looks like paying for a hotel room or an extra 4 hours in the car.

When you apply for the race you must include a SASE that they will send
back to you. Why can't they send back the number? It weighs almost
nothing! This is how the Napa Valley Marathon worked. My only other
marathon.

Perhaps if we whine enough something can be done.
