Brahim Boulami broke the 3,000m steeplechase world record at the
Golden League meeting in Brussels.

The Moroccan ran a time of seven minutes 55.29 seconds to eclipse the
previous record by over half a second.

Thank you so much. Now when I watch it on CBC TV, there won't be any
surprise!

Just kidding :)

I'm not kidding. Please don't post results in your headline. I was
planning on watching this on Saturday. I resisted looking at the
results all day and you ruined it for me. I gave in and looked at the
complete results. There were some great performance at this meet, but I
thought the best was the junior steeple record. This kid ran the
equivalent of a 8:32, 3200 metre run, over barriers. That's mind
boggling to me. He can probably run close to 8:00 for 2 miles, which
shows how fast he is. The 800 was great too, with a top 8 all-time
performance by Yuriy B from Russia, plus he beat the World Champ Andre
Bucher. The 2nd fastest performer ever in the 1500 was great too.
I willl still watch this meet, which was the best this entire year.

Actually, I thought I brought the same point up during the
Edmonton Championships, when Ken did the same thing and
my day's viewing got spoiled!

I remember his answer was that he agreed that it was a good
point. Maybe he forgot. I DO appreciate all the articles of interest
he posts though - as I know many others do. Perhaps he could
ensure the title of the post is more appropriate and less revealing.

Either way, I hope I don't come off as a jerk or something. Again,
the posts are totally appreciated and enjoyed, otherwise. ;-)

I hardly consider 0.5 sec over 3000m steeple to be "shattering".
Impressive nonetheless.
