PGA serves Coke
SCBB serves Pepsi.
M.P.
Disneyland, which of course sets very high expectations, serves Coke,
whilst Knott's Berry Farm is very Pepsi.
Six Flags Magic Mountain, though not the cleanest park in the world, are
still very Coke, while Universal Studios, is definatly a Pepsi place.
Now dont get me wrong, I do like Knotts and Universal, but I think it is
clear in this comparison that niether park are are quite up to the
standards of thier Coke serving competitors.
I would like to find out if this holds true for other parks. I would only
hope that Cedar Point serves Coke!
Cheers.

THE PEPSI MAX BIG ONE - Back Seat - Left, of course
Or THE 7UP SHOCKWAVE - The Greatest StandUp - (Mantis isnt up for review
yet)
Or NEMESIS - Its was so good they named a drink after it (the ride was
better)
Let the rides speak for themselves. Stuff the sponsorship.

Well... CP used to serve Coke for as long as I can remember. Than about
3 years ago they switched to Pepsi. I wish they would switch back to Coke.
C'mon CP, Burger King switched back - you can do it! :)
To take this a little further CP serves Pierres ice cream. Excellent premium
ice cream, but it may be a regional brand. Made in Cleveland and just about
the best ice cream you can buy in a store. Makes up for CP having Pepsi
(almost). What kind of ice cream do some other parks out there sell?

Knoebel's also serves Pepsi, and Birch Beer, which is popular
in the PA Dutch area, but difficult to find elsewhere.
I think Kennywood serves Pepsi too.
If I remember correctly CP, Kennywood and Knoebels were number
1,2,3 in the IT readers poll. Now what does that say about Pepsi?
Jeffrey L. Seifert
Cedar Point serves Pepsi. Kennywood parks serve Pepsi. I would guess that
Blackpool serves Pepsi since they do have Pepsi Max-TBO. How can we
forget that PKI serves Coke with all of those machines in the queue
lines. These are the only park/soft drink combinations that come to mind
but I do see a trend. The more traditional parks listed all serve Pepsi
while the Coke parks listed are all theme parks. I don't know if this has
anything to do with "standards" because I'm sure you could find several
exceptions to this example. IMHO I'd prefer the Pepsi parks out of this
sample simply due to the parks and their rides themselves and not because
of the soft drink brand they serve.

CP is very Pepsi.. Pepsi sponsors Snake River Falls, as well as
the Laser Light show. Every major coasters Que line also sells
Pepsi only, no other drinks are served in the lines...
Quite frankly, as a park-goer, I don't like what happens to a park (or
other establishment) when Pepsi gets the contract. I seem to recall that
when the Point served Coca-Cola products, the menu-boards and soda
fountain heads said, "Coca-Cola"; and there were two "Frozen Coke" stands
in the park. Some drinks may have been served in red "Coca-Cola" cups,
but most were in Cedar Point cups.
Then, Pepsi got the contract. Now, all the menuboards and fountain heads
say "Pepsi." So do all of the cups. And the Snake River Falls logo. And
those big ugly banners that they had up at all the coasters through the
1992 season...banners that should not be used for a 3-month run, and are
so ugly that they shouldn't be used for a 4-hour gig. And the signs
posted at each coaster explaining the history and vital statistics of each
ride. It's like Pepsico walked into the park and said, "Okay, you can buy
(and resell) our product for us, and in return, you can put our logo
everywhere..."
I dunno. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Besides which, I prefer
Coca-Cola when I am thirsty, and usually have several cans in a cooler
in the car when I visit the park.

Getting a little of the subject of roller coasters here but-- I think
you are mistaken Eric. From what I remember Pepsico owns (or has
significant shares of stock in) KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut, but not
Burger King. When Pepsico started getting into the fast food business
BK responded by dropping Pepsi products and going with Coke.
Anyhow I'm amazed at the response this thread has gotten, the
beverage companies would be proud. Personally I'll drink anything
that's around, I'm not loyal to any particular beverage. All those
millions
they spend advertising can't pursuade me to prefer one over the other.
Jeffrey L. Seifert
I find it hard to believe that BK is part of Pepsico since , at least here in
the Dallas area, they are serving Coke again.

I always check out which soft drinks a park serves before I go there. That is
much more important that what roller coasters they have.

IMO, nothing at all. Particularly when people like me are hauling around
coolers full of Coke in our cars...not because the parks serve Pepsi, but
because we don't like spending $2.50 for a drink that costs $0.99 anywhere
else.

Or at least was. Nevertheless, every Burger King in at least Central Ohio
serves Coca-Cola product. I found the same to be true in the Cleveland
area, northern Indiana, and in West Virginia last summer. Now, to borrow
a line from Mr. Siefert, if BK is still part of Pepsico, what does *THAT*
say about Pepsi?
PLEASE TELL ME YOU'RE KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guess you haven't been to Knott's in awhile!! They switched to Coke a
couple of years ago and Coke even sponsers their Log Ride which never had
a sponser before in it's 30+ year history!
No it is not. Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and KFC are owned by Pepsico. Burger
King has not had any affiliation with Pepsico since they started carrying
Coke again.

Mr Twister
Yes, I've noticed. I prefer Coke over Pepsi, but I have noticed big
variations in Coke between the fountain version, the aluminum can version,
and the plastic bottle version. I think what you are noticing is
differences in carbonation gas volume. I find that Pepsi is too syrupy
for me, particularly the fountain version. Coke seems best from a
well-adjusted fountain, served very cold.
Enough of this. Can we get back to talking coasters? 8-)
Sorry to say, but Cedar Point also serves Pepsi. It would be nice to find
some parks with Coke. I prefer it over Pepsi too.
Sorry to bring bad news but Cedar Point serves Pepsi, which tastes good
if mixed properly.
Cedar Point Last served Coke in summer of 1991 has served Pepsi Poducts
ever since

Well, I discovered the worst thing about Cedar Point last summer, in at least one of
their restaraunts(sp) they have some no-name brand of ketchup. How can you have
anything but Heinz in a high quality establishment like that? It's horrible!

Did anyone ever notice Hershey Park does not sell Hershey's Ice Cream but
offers Ben and Jerry's instead? Speaks highly of their product doesn't it.
Joel W Styer
>Joel W Styer
On the contrary, this speak highly of the Park! They know that Ben and
Jerry's is the superior product and they let the patrons have it, smar move
in my mind. Also, even though B&J is an expensive product it is not as
over-priced as most other cheap theme parks food. BTW, HersheyPark
is a completely seperate company from the food business and the park
is run independently and has no *real* connection to the rest of the business
anymore!

No, it doesn't. Have you ever looked closely at a Hersheys Ice Cream
product wrapper? There is a disclaimer on there that indicates that
Hershey Ice Cream is in no way associated with the chocolate maker. Just
learned that at a rest-stop in Maryland last August 8-P
