For the record, I love that the Staride is still sitting there.
Thank you Rhonda!

Lucky, really wanted to go but wasn't able to. Would've loved to
finally see these classic parks.

I wonder how hard it would it would be to rehab? Don't see too much corrosion. Apparently it hasn't run since the '30s, and is almost 110 years old.

Okay, details? I've never been to this place but is there really a
SBNO ride that's been SBNO since the '30s???????

That's what the one web page I had found on it said. Basically it actually dates to the parks original incarnation as "White City" circa 1905 or so, but that incarnation fell on hard times during the depression, before reopening as Lakeside in the late 30s. It's at that point the Staride went SBNO, and it's just sat there ever since.

I have since found new information, and now it looks like the Staride opened ~1915, and possibly operated as late as 1978, but it's been SBNO for at least 35 years.

I can confirm that it ran into the 1970s, as I have some brief film footage
of it in operation. It's available on my "Parks From The Past Vol. 1" dvd,
available at my website:

The web page on Staride I saw said 1908. Maybe Rhonda might know the actual date.

It hasn't been that long. I've seen video footage of it running, which I
believe was from the 70s.
