I read on TPR that the bald eagle pen will be relocated and the Golden
Nugget will be installed on the site, under the name Black Diamond.
But it was already rumored that it would be located in the vicinity of
the museum, so that's not huge news.

Check out our website at: http://www.airphoenix.com

Got a bunch of news updates on what is news this year.

We will have a new flying turns post shortly. They have finished
the reprofiling but are now still working on the brake run and the run
to the 2nd and 3rd lifts. Final trains are still not on site.

Also no track for the HSTC replacement yet. Although they are trying
to re-use the old station.

Tis all for now.

Hey, don't complain about the up charge for the skyride, they have to
get you to pay for the free parking at some point. ;^)

More technically, what's being saved / reused is the roof that was
over the HSTC's loading platform.
When asked "why?" at Spring Presv Con, Dick Knoebel basically said
because "you" people would complain if I didn't save something from the
HSTC as a remembrance

Personally, I'm surprised someone hasn't boycotted Knoebels over the
removal of HSTC lol!

Personally, I would have liked to seen them keep the mechanics for the
lift hill (i.e. motor, chain, etc.) and simply build all new track and
perhaps new cars.

Finally made first trip to Knoebel's and Phoenix and Twister were all
what they were cracked up to be.

We would have preferred paying for parking and not having to dig
around in our pockets for tickets to the Haunted House and Sky Ride.

Looking forward to going back again soon.

Yes the Phoenix and Twister were running at their best for the ACE
convention. That "Sklooshing" rain right before the evening ERT along
w/ cooler temps had them running better than I ever remember.
The Twister was giving pops of airtime where it never had them
before
(which is why I logged in over 50 rides on it between the 2 ERT sessions

Where is ChrisCoaster these days? Haven't heard from him in a long
time and this is the type of post he'd jump all over. Maybe he grew up
and decided that Knoebels is the most incredible park in the world?
Naahhhhh.

I love when this happens. I just LOVE Twister.

I'm seriously hoping I can bring the wife out to PPP this year, maybe
next. I want her to experience Knoebels, and it'll be great cause the
dogs can come, too. :)

Which ChrisCoaster are you referencing? There must be two, one with
caps(moi) and another, all lower-case.

There is a chriscoaster who is adamantly anti-Knoebels, who had a
terrible experience there, saw the park as a glorified carnival and
said Phoenix was a waste of his time, etc, etc...
I didn't realize there were two so forgive me if I said things
regarding your name that may not be truth.
The other Chris coaster has not posted here in a very long time, like
years I think, (unless it's you) but I think about him every time I
type the word "Knoebels."

Not true...THAT Chris is now "NewsForDaniel", the guy who posted the

I haven't posted here in a while, and have not been to Knoebels -yet.
But a quick review of the Wiki on that 1926 gem is temptation enough
to want to go down there, perhaps in a year to relive some of the
Wildwood NJ veteran rides that have thankfully found a new home
there! Jet Star?? I rode that thing when I was 14 and have very vague
memories of it, other than it scared me at the time. So I am
definitely not anti-Knoebels by any stretch.

happy riding,

Moschella is NewsForDaniel?

And the main reason he used to attack Knoebels is that he knew it would
piss off many enthusiasts.

How sad.

I haven't really kept up with RRC very much for the past year or so. I
have taken kind of a coaster sabbatical for the last almost two years, and
as such haven't kept up as much on RRC.

Last year, my only coastering was in the week-long ACE Con trip. This
year, I'll be doing the ECC Italy trip and ACE Spain trip (as parts of the
same longer trip). I did the SFNE Bizarro media day. And that might be it
for me this year. I may do something in the Fall, but that will depend on
the economy, how much its affecting tips at my job and how much I end up
spending in Europe.
