I wish that DW would have pursued another inversion machine. And Vekoma is a poor choice to get the contract. I can't help but hold against them the fact that they bankrupted, left several rides without an operational manufacturer, and then formed into a new company that cannot be sued for the inevitable injuries that will occur on the old company's rides. Who's to say that this process could not repeat and then Vekoma forms yet a third "new company"? It's an unnecessary risk for DW to invest into a major Vekoma ride, especially one with zero inversions.
As I've said before, DW and other parks have a thrill base audience that can only be ignored for so long. Yes, I know that families spend more money there, but I'd dare say that families with young children make up a minority of DW's visitors. The competition for attendance and guests that will have a lasting impact on the park will *not* be won by opening rides by a questionable manufacturer.
