It's covered by the Fairground regulations which
cover everything from ride operators age to
ride inspections.

We had to use nationally recognized Inspectors
whose equipment had current calibration certificates.

Important areas were operator procedure, electrical
safety & mechanical integrity.

Testing involved proving of safety circuits, timing of
RCD breakers & crack testing of structural steel &
all welds.

Regulation was by means of enforcement of notice
to closure - this was done for (sometimes) the most
trivial of reasons & is very Inspector dependant.

Area's obviously differ but where I was the HSE were
most vigilant.

Ummmm - out of curiosity, I looked at
http://www.hse.gov.uk/spd/pdf/asmtrep.pdf

and page 3 says "Restricted Commercial.... contents must not be disclosed
to third parties..."

So why is it on the www, available to *anyone*[1]

[1] "anyone" in this context means any person having access to a computer,
access to the internet, and the knowledge to use both
