The Sunday, 8 June 2003 NY Post has an article about Tamar Fellner who
died after falling from Raven at Holiday World on 31 May 2003. It
includes a photo of her and fiance, Robert Weitzner, taken sitting on
Raven in the station earlier during the event.
Go here for the article and photo:

Buddy says he remembers seeing her at the event last weekend, but
Dooley and I don't recognize either of them.

I looked at the photo the first time in B&W (hard copy of the Post).
After looking at the color photo online, I think the picture off Tamar
Fellner and Robert Weitzner was taken on Legend (in the station).
Raven's lap bars are black, the one in the picture is orange. Sorry
about that.

Although I agree with the general premise that incidents like this don't
help in the saftey PR department the reality is people have been falling off
woodies in darwin award winning style since the birth of the wooden roller
coaster ride concept. Statements that this or similar unfortunate rider
induced accidents will lead to OTSR or worse is a marginal deterent for
coaster enthusiasts as well as a good read, nothing more. The personal loss
to the victims families and friends and the trauma to HW park employees and
patrons is far more tangible and deep than any coorelations to saftey
changes.
Lastly; although I don't typically ride with coaster enthusiasts I would
respectively ask that if I'm a single rider and I happen to be paired up
with a RRC member/poster as a single please let me know if you were one of
the callous who had no sympathy for the young woman killed so that I may
graciously alter my riding arrangements.

Thanks for putting a face to this tragic incident.
Andrea....lap bar....seat belt.....check....enjoy the ride.....
I actually remember seeing them waiting for the last seat of the Raven on
Friday night. I distinctly remember seeing Robert wearing that "obey me"
t-shirt on Friday night. In fact, I asked him where he got it, because
volunteers for Boston's AIDS walk used to wear a similar shirt with the
same slogan. The three of us, including Tamar, had a short conversation on
the subject of the t-shirt.
The whole incident is so sad on so many levels.
