I've been reading "More Kennywood Memories" and the author mentions this song, so I looked it up on YouTube, and luckily the song with the video are up there. I never knew this existed. It's the "Palisades Park" song but for Kennywood, with the original singer singing it. It was made in '86 for a commercial. Good footage of the Laser Loop and Thunderbolt (some POV), and some of the other coasters and a lot of rides. Worth checking out if you've never seen it.

And since I love Kennywood but unfortunately never went to Palisades since it pre-dated me, I prefer this version(which is ok since it was sung by the same person).

Freddy Cannon is the name you are looking for.

I actually picked up a '45' of this recording at a Phall Phun Phest Swap
Meet a few years ago. Hmmm...

(rummage...rummage...rummage...)

Here it is. It's even in the printed sleeve I bought it in. On the back of
the sleeve are five photographs of presumably sick children. Above the
photos it says, "HELP THE KIDS AT [logo]Children's Hospital of
Pittsburgh[/logo].
Below that it identifies the tracks on the record:

"Kennywood Park" by Freddy Cannon
"With A Little Love" (KDKA Children's Hospital Theme)

At the bottom are logos for KDKA TV+RADIO and National Record Mart.

The label on the disc itself:

FREDDY (BOOM, BOOM) CANNON

I also have a reprint of "Palisades Park" on Collectibles records. Flip
side is "Transistor Sister".

Besides Freddy Cannon, the two records have in common that I can't remember
ever playing the B-sides.

> A little trivia about the original "Palisades Park" song....
It was written by Chuck Barris host of THE GONG SHOW and creator of
THE DATING GAME and THE NEWLYWED GAME. Speaking of amusement park related
songs/jingles.... did you know that the tagline from the old Indiana Beach
commercials "There's more than corn in Indiana" is loosely based on the
opening line of "Back Home Again in Indiana"
