Is it me, or does the new chassis look a lot more robust than previous
iterations?

It's not just you. They certainly have a lot more meat on 'dem bones!

WOW !!! As someone who knew what they started w/ fairly well,
wow, what it's evolved into is really something
I remember John Fetterman / Steve Okamoto were always concerned w/
the overall weight of the chassis / cars. Esp since they were basing the
current rides structure on the 1930's rides (which had fairly light cars
)
I'm wondering how much faster these heavier chassis will be running
by the time they get to the bottom of the trough ?

I might just have to get up to Knoebels and see what's going on

Oddly enough, it was an inability to view photos on FB without opening an
account that actually prompted me to open an account there...hence the
incredibly infrequent updates on my profile...

You're making assumptions. It looks to me like that chassis is all tubing
and if I remember the photo correctly, it's got lightening holes in it.
Maybe the idea is to put more of the car's heft into the chassis and less
into the car body, so the difference in weight might be a 'wash'.

The interesting thing is that this latest photo actually shows a much less
complete car than what we saw a couple of years ago at Phun Phest.

Pity the old r.r-c FTP site doesn't seem to work anymore...

*** FaceBook is incredibly restrictive, not to mention that businesses
and government agencies often block it from their employees. Add in
their limited browser support, and those with profiles there need to
duplicate those profiles elsewhere if they want full Internet
accessibility.
