I received a season pass renewal form today from Dorney Park.
Here is the text on the back side of the form:

"Reach New Heights of Fun & Thrills with a 1997 Dorney Park Season Pass!

New for 1997!

STEEL FORCE

Dorney Park

Imagine climbing 200 feet into the air, then plunging 205 feet into a dark
tunnel where all you see is your scream! Imagine more than one mile of
twisting, hutling steel track that takes you on the ride of a lifetime!
Imagine STEEL FORCE... oneof the tallest freestanding roller coasters in the
world! Right here in Allentown... at Dorney Park... waiting for you in '97!
All the more reason for your family to have 1997 Dorney Park Season Passes.

................"

The rest of it just talks about what's already there. Sounds like a very
cool ride especially with the drop into a tunnel ala Desperado! I can hardly
wait to try it next spring. I might get another season pass, it depends on
how CP and ACE decide to handle the Convention next year.

I forgot to mention that there's a very "banshee" like character included in
the logo! It looks just like the Banshee "demon" except that it has steel
hands. What does every one think of the name? I think it's ok, not bad,
but could be better! At least Cedarfair hasn't started playing the name game
yet!

Sounds like a winner to me also! I just hope it is built along the lines
of the Magnum, plenty of speed and air time but NO LOOPS! No loops means
no horse collars and no head banging! I will be heading up to Dorney 2
weekends from now to renew my pass for next year.

Hmmm...a very normal name during an age when coasters are named things
like MONTU, CHANG, and ALPENGEIST! Seems almost unbelievable that no park
has used this name yet. Pretty cool!

The tunnel should be a really great effect! DESPERADO's tunnel has some
excellent head chopping effects and really adds to the overall ride.
More than a mile of track? Is this just advertisement banter or will it
really be more than a mile? If so, STEEL FORCE will beat out the other
hyper coasters (WILD THING, MAGNUM, DESPERADO...) in length (if my
figures are correct)! Well, one big plus is that it's not a WILD THING
clone like I was expecting. Kudos to Cedar Fair for choosing a new name
and design!!!

I'm still having a hard time believing that there will be a 200'+ steel
coaster just 1 1/2 hours away from me! Whooopeee!! They pretty much
convinced me to buy my first ever Dorney Park season pass! I may be
seeing a lot more of that place next season....

Steel Force--Steel Phantom, too much alike to me. I'm disappointed.
Thought CF could do better than that. I understand it will be built by
Morgan, but they will take out some of the slow spots that "Mediocre
Thing" has. Let's hope its a winner. I can't wait to see how they blend
a 200'+ coaster with the scenery, as the town required for approval.
