Does anyone know of a way to get from Cleveland's Hopkins International
Airport to Cedar Point? I'd like to go there in May but will not
have a driver license(don't ask) and can't rent a car.

Other than that, anyone from Austin that can drive interested in an Ohio
trip? :-)

you could probably take cleveland transit into downtown cleveland and take
greyhound to Sandusky's greyhound station which is walking distance to Cedar
Point's boat to the point, or a short taxi ride

My car broke down while I was working at Cedar Point, so I had to fly
back home to Oregon instead of driving. I got a ride from Cedar Point
housing to the Amtrack station and took a train to Cleveland, then took
a Taxi from the train station to the airport (Ran me about $28). I
suppose you could do the same in reverse. Take a taxi from the airport
to the train station, then train to Sandusky and Taxi from there to your
hotel/CP (Shouldn't run you more than $10 for a taxi from the train
station to CP/a hotel). Total, it cost me $11 for the train ticket, $28
in taxi money, and a $120 plane ticket from Cleveland to Portland, so
about $159 to get home. Would have cost me around $600 to drive, since
I gotta spend so much on gas, plus hotels, and food for 3 or 4 days.

Take light rail downtown to your other options (Greyhound?). See below from
the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority
(http://www.gcrta.org/Airport.asp). I've done it before, and it's pretty quick
and easy. Should be $1.50 each way. A lot cheaper than a $28 taxi ride.

"For a quick, convenient ride to and from Cleveland Hopkins International
Airport try using RTA's Red Line. It's simple to catch the Red Line train and
it takes less than 30 minutes to ride to or from Downtown Cleveland’s Tower
City Station.

RTA's Airport station is located on the lower level of the terminal complex. To
reach the rapid transit line just take the elevators or escalators near the
center of the ticketing and baggage claim levels."

Good luck.

I took the train from Chicago (SFGA) to Sandusky and then to Cleveland
(SFWOA) and the airport, public transportation all the time. I'm pretty sure
you could reverse the process.

The subway goes directly from the airport to the Amtrak station, right next
to the Brown's stadium. The train to Sandusky is pretty cheap. I'd recommend
it over the bus due to the better ride, but the schedule may not work out
for you.

On the couple of trips I've made to CP, I've considered using a
shuttle service from the airport to Sandusky. I think it runs $35
each way, but I opted for the rental car since it was about the same
price.

Unfortunatley, the RTA operates the most horrible piece of shit ever to
grace the face of the earth. I stopped in downtown to tour the Lightrail
system and also the red line on a trip to SFO, and I was horrified that the
train spent more than 45 minutes in the Airport terminus before another one
came in and we were permited to leave. Absolutely disgusting.

Iain,

There must have been some type of technical problem that day, I've used
RTA rail plenty of times and the service was pretty good. The schedule
shows trains leaving the airport terminal every 8 to 15 min., depending
on the time of day.
