what does the motorola model # mean.

Does anyone know what the breakdown of the motorola model numbers are?

For example the date of mfg, and the type of radio, if it does trunking,
How can you tell if it does type II trunking.

The radio's I am interested in are Maxtracs and Mtx 8000.
