Sangean/Emerson ATS 803A price

The price of a Sangean ATS 803A is $299 (canadian plus tax).
However, I came across another name for the ATS 803A (other than
the realistic): it is "Emerson", and amazingly it is sold for $170.
My question is: Are they the same exact radio (components wise)?

As far as I know, Sangean ATS-803A and Emerson ATS-803A are completely
identical. I bought Emerson ATS-803A last month for CDN$199.95 here in
Vancouver. The price of Emerson you mentioned, is it in Canadian $ or
US $. Sangean ATS-803A price in Universal Radio Inc. is US$ 169.95.
If Emerson ATS-803A is sold for CDN$ 170 then it's a really good deal.

No the price I quoted is in Candian $s. And to clarify some inquiries,
I checked the Emerson Radio, it looks identical to the Sangean and it
HAS the tape out connection. The only difference, the salesman told me
( although I think he does not know that much about the radio), is
that it does not come with HEADPHONES. But what's the big deal, the
headphones do not worth Cdn$100 (or more in this case).
So, In sammary, It is really a very nice deal. Actually an excellant one.
As for me I bought my Sangean two years ago through a mail order from
New York, and I did not loose that much.

I have seen the Emerson and Sangean 803A in a couple stores on Yonge
Street in Toronto. The Sangean in one store was going for cash price
$149.95 Can + TAX. I suspect the Emerson is also around that price.
