Actual GSW's last two words appear to be . . .
a Self-Reflective statement 'about' Himself
{How He Truly 'feels' About Himself}

The second reposting was an attempt, once again,
to remind Himself that He is after all a "Cheap Shit" !

And what is GSW's 'fixation' with Plastic ? ? ?

Manufactured by Tecsun I presume? :)

Cosmetically it looks nice. Wonder what it's like "in action"......

RHF,

I am sorry, that my posts bother you - you sure seem to react to

Well....preliminary reports on Radio Intel website say it's about as
good as the Degen DE 1103.

The MW and FM are excellent, the SW is "about as sensitive as the
DE1103 but a little bit noisier".

Wonder if they'll solve those problems after the first run. I was
thinking of getting a DE1103, but if this thing turns out to be a bit
better, I'll spring more money for one of those (especially with it
having the bigger speaker and all).

SW - The Speaker is claimed to be Five Inches (5")
but the size of the Radio is only claimed to be 220mm
about 8.5 Inches - Both can not be right considering the

In Canada, the word 'photographs' ends with the letter 's'. Are you from
the United States?

Should have read :
Consider the Word : Photograph [no 's']

Starts with a "Ph" and Ends with a "ph"

Shorthand for Photograph 'Ph2' {Ph2}

But then if you check your post - you will see
that some how an 'I' was inserted into the
word "Photographs" to read "PhotogrIaph"

This looks about the same size as a Tecsun PL-550, but bigger in depth. No
doubt to make room for the tuning mechanism and the D cell batteries. Is
it double conversion, and does it have SSB support? If not, it's probably
a PL-550 inside.

What I find interesting is that the "imageshack" photo shows a power
cord plugged into the left side of the radio. That would mean that it
has
an internal transformer for AC power instead of using an external
wall-wart pwer supply. That would account for a lot of the physical
size (& weight) of the radio. However, that also means that it is set
up for Chinese AC power (220 VAC?) and thus wouldn't be as easy
to use here in the US as the models with wall-wart power that simply
allow substitute wall-warts for different local voltages.

Importing one of these with the Chinese labelling wouldn't be as
rewarding as it was getting the Degen models before they came out
as English-labelled "Kaito"s (with the US power supplies), since
you'd have to forgo completely using it on AC power (unless you
also got or had a transformer power adapter).

The ones I've seen on Ebay come with a little step up transformer that looks
like a wallwart.

BH,

You are right the Redsun RP2100 on eBay does come with
a 110 to 220 VAC Step-Up Transformer.
LIYPN Writes : "A 110V input 220V. output step-up power
transformer included for FREE to buyers in America & Japan"

LIYPN Writes : "Battery: Uses 4 D size 1.5V. battery or
4 AA size 1.5V battery (not included in this auction)

LIYPN Writes : "Re-Charge of Batteries inside the Radio Possible"
- fwiw - I Don't know if this applies to the "AA" Batteries
{Most Likely} -or- the "D" Batteries ? ? ?

TIP - Either way Plug the Radio into the AC when not in-use
to Recharge the Batteries -and- Un-Plug it from the AC to
use-it on Batteries for lower noise and better reception in
most instances.

LIYPN Writes : "MANUAL IN PDF FORMAT
WILL BE PROVIDED FOR FREE"

hope this helps ~ RHF

Does that mean the unit can pick up SSB as it comes right out of the
box, or do you have to buy an add-on "black box" or fiddle around with
something inside, add another module, etc.?

I certainly hope that a radio that fancy is able to pick up SSB without
any further "add ons".

I didn't do the spelling correction for fear of sounding too acidic. The
'ph' was enough 'off base' as it was..
