Technically the Grundig Yacht Boy 80 is sold in the US as the Sangean
PT-80 ProTravel, but it uses a 6V 200mA (-)tip adapter. With all the
research I've done I haven't been able to come up with a source for
purchasing the adapter that's made specifically for the Yacht Boy 80.
Suggestions anyone?

Before the world wide web there was World Band Radio.
Buying an aftermarket AC adaptor should not be any problem. Two things you
want to make sure of:
1) Buy an adaptor with at least 50% more current capability than is called
for, for safety purposes (i.e. at least a 300 mA 6 volt adaptor).
2) Make sure you buy a decent, regulated analog adaptor. You do not want a
switch mode supply for a radio.
BION,
Try a RadioShack Store {The Shack}
http://www.radioshack.com/
Enercell 6V @ 300mA AC-to-DC Adapter

plus the right "Adapt-A-Plug" {Adaptaplug}
to fit your Grundig Yacht Bot 80 Radio

hope this helps - iane ~ RHF

FWIW : Grundig Yacht Boy 80Radio {Europe}
is the Sangean PT-80 ProTravel Radio {USA}
http://www.universal-radio.com/CATALOG/portable/1080.html

.
IMHO : The Sangean PT-80 Radio's USA
(110 VAC to 6 VDC) Adapter should work
A-OK as a replacement for the Grundig YB-80
Radio's EU (220 VAC to 6 VDC) Adapter.

Yes, here's a suggestion:
Make very, VERY sure of the polarity. It sounds a little odd that the
identical radio -- with just a different name plate glued to it -- would
have the opposite polarity.
