I want to receive Fax & RTTY

I am interested in receiving Fax and RTTY. Can someone tell me what hardware
and software I need to do this?

I have a 486-33mhz computer and a Sony 2010 radio.

this has probably been talked about before in this newsgroup, but i just
scrolled through and did not see mention of this, and it's something i've
wondered about for about 6 years now.

sometimes, on a shortwave radio, i hear these broadcasts of robot voices
speaking numbers in different languages. i usually hear Spanish, but
there are numbers broadcasts in english, coptic, french...the broadcasts
last several minutes, and all you hear is "uno, quatro, quatro, duo, uno..."

my understanding is that no one knows from where these broadacasts
originate, who is responsible for them, or what purpose they serve.

is this still true? or has this thing been debunked or whatever???

There are two progs. JVFAX6.0 does fax and Hamcomm22 does rtty with a pc.
You need to build a real simple single op-amp interface to go into the
serial port. Details are included with both packages.

I think I got them from ftp.funet.fi.
