Israeli forces brutally batter 7-year-old Palestinian child [ 25/11/2010

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- Israeli policemen severely battered a
Jerusalemite child in Silwan, occupied Jerusalem, on Wednesday night
breaking both his arm and leg, his father said.
Mansour Al-Resheq told the Quds media center in the Shaari Tzedek
hospital that policemen chased his 7-year-old child Adam and savagely
beat him then dragged him on the ground before leaving him in the street
bleeding.
For his part, Fakhri Abu Diab, the head of the committee in defense of
Silwan land, said that the child was suffering from several fractures
and that the doctors were still checking his condition, noting that Adam
was still screaming of pain, which pointed to more fractures other than
those in the arm and leg.
He denounced the "savage act" on the part of the occupation forces,
adding that he could not assimilate the idea of heavily armed soldiers
chasing then beating a helpless child and dragging him on the ground.

A 7-year-old Palestinian child from Silwan neighborhood, south of the Al
Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem, was hospitalized Wednesday,
after a number of Israeli occupation government policemen violently
attacked, kicked and punched him.
The child, Adam Mansour Al-Rishiq, was taken to a Jerusalem hospital and
was immediately sent to the Intensive Care Unit due to the seriousness
of his condition.
Fakhri Abu Diab, a member of the local committee to defend Silwan land
and property, stated that clashes were reported Wednesday between the
police and local residents in Silwan, especially near a protest tent
located between Jacob's Well and Ein Al Lowza.
The tent was installed several months ago to protest the Israeli
demolition and confiscation of Palestinian and Arab homes in occupied
East Jerusalem, which protesters say was carried out despite Israeli
court orders protecting the homes from demolition.
Abu Diab stated that Border Guard Policemen chased a number of youth
before violently attacking the seven-year-old child, and striking him
with their batons on different parts of his body.
Adam’s father stated that his child was moved to the hospital
unconscious and heavily bleeding, and was directly sent to the Intensive
Care Unit suffering from a number of fractures and bruises.

Out of curiosity, if you hate the United Nations so much and can't think
of a thing they've done right, why would their decision to steal land
from Palestinians in order to give it to Russian and New York immigrants

permissible to use taxes to make people's incomes more "equal." Such
a belief is totally incompatible with freedom. Freedom prevails only
when no one -- especially not a politician or a bureaucrat -- has
the right to even _know_ what your income is.

That is immoral in the extreme, when it comes to individuals. No one
in Washington, or anywhere else for that matter, has any right to
even _know_ what my income is, much less seize and "redistribute" it.
Corporations -- which are creatures of the state and probably
shouldn't exist anyway -- cannot have rights and so do not deserve
such protection. But damn it Dave -- I do, and you do, and everyone

No, that "social contract" was merely the extreme overreaction of
some people, particularly the loonier "philosophes" like Rousseau,
to the excesses of the dynasts and oligarchs, and was _not_ the norm
in most countries that threw off monarchy.
It most particularly was _not_ the direction taken by America's
revolutionaries, who knew -- and specifically stated -- that the
tyranny of the majority was to be feared just as much as the tyranny
of royalty. They specifically stated that even the government of a
republic must be "tied down" with the "strong chains" of the
constitution and for that very reason they made progressive taxation
of incomes _totally illegal_.
(In America, Jefferson et al. wanted a real aristocracy of merit to
arise under freedom; while the insane equalitarians in France
believed that all must be made "equal" no matter how many had to be
enslaved or murdered to do it.)

The opposite is true. The oligarchs _love_ mass democracy, since a
plurality of voters are near-morons, as easily manipulated

Thank you for posting that. None of it contradicts in the slightest
way anything I said.
I heartily support what Jefferson wanted: no income tax whatsoever,
the ability of citizens to rise or fall on their own merits, and an
extremely small and constitutionally limited federal government
(with a racial definition of citizenship) -- supported entirely by
tariffs and the like, which require no snooping or interfering with
the lives of individuals and families.

Once you start reading that book, you can't lay it down.
The book I have, I bought it at the Goodwill store years ago.It still
has the jacket on it too.

The American way is to tax the rich and use the money to invest in
America. Things like education and infrastructure to make us competitive

I would say...errhhm...why compare US with the world's most populous
Moslem country with a very spotty political history? BTW,some parts of
Indonesia still live in the Stone Age (IrianJaya,aka West Papua). That
would be unfair to the native population,who oppose any development
and urbanization of their lands...Why should we be competitive with
them??? How about Pakistan or Bangladesh? And what infrastructructure
does Indonesia possess??? And how many people are rushing to go to
Indonesia to get education??? Where do you obtain your information???

Paine is interesting in that his initial enthusiasm for the
"democracy" and "equality" of the French Revolution (he lived there
and even served in the National Convention) was dimmed somewhat when
the demagogues of that insane regime and their screaming, murderous
mobs threw him in prison where he might easily have been killed had
things gone just a little differently.
He was a freethinker, but not an atheist. His brilliant _Age of
Reason_ is chock full of his Deism, which wasn't all that different
from that of the more rational Classical philosophers and their
_animus mundi_.
One must sympathize with Paine -- even though his naiveté with
regard to "democracy" and economics was extreme -- because, unlike
almost all other writers and politicians then and now, he did not
alter his ideas to fit the public mood of the moment. (He even
denounced Napoleon as a "charlatan" while in Napoleonic France!)
Once he realized that the Bible was bunk, he continued to proclaim
the truth even though it caused many former friends to attack and
abandon him. Jefferson (also a free-thinking Deist in addition to
being a White separatist) was one of the very few who remained faithful.
