Thanks - I also continue to note these two stations overlapping on
6160; it makes for an interesting comparison - sometimes they seem to
carry the same program (and you get an echo effect), other times they
beat up on each other with different programs.

BpnJ,

The Top-of-the-Hour [TOH] News seems to have
the 'Echo' as it is current and timely : Most
likely an "Real-Time" direct feed from the CBC.

The remain Hourly Programing is "Time-Shifted"
for the Daily & Over-Night Programing for the
'Local' Area and 'Local' Time :

CKZN from St. John's, Newfoundland : UTC-3.5
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=175

CKZU from Vancouver, British Colombia : UTC-7
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=256

The Local Weather a/o Traffic Report or the
Local Station ID can make it easier.

NOTE @ 5~8 AM PST/PDT you should usually hear
the 'Local' CBU-AM 690 kHz Vancouver ID Info.
