I purchased an Icom IC-R3 from Japan, figuring that the NTSC TV receive
function would work with the US TV system. Although I can get sound and
viewable pictures, the channel assignments are all wrong (i.e., my local
channel 10 tunes in as channel 8 on the Icom, it's not quite on
frequency, and most channels I can't get at all.)
Does anyone know of a way to tell the R3 to use the US channel
assignments?
Thanks,
Stan
you can then choose from a number of preset countrys and shoot the result

take a look on the yahoo r75 group. you might be rewarded with a surprise in

Andy's correct. The ARC3 software changed the step size to 10 kHz (as
well as setting up the TV channels for the US bandplan). In fact, now I
can switch my IC-R3 back and forth between 9 kHz and 10 kHz spacing on
the BC band, a mod that cannot be done on the US/Canada versions
(they're restricted to 10 kHz spacing only).

Stan
