Anyone that has the up-to-date freqs for the Plano, Texas police and
fire departments will you please post these freqs. I understand these
departments have gone 800 Mhz.

Larry,
I'm monitoring them as I type. They have been on a trunk system
for over two years. There are 20 freq's listed to then, But I have
found they only use the last 10. By the way so does every other public
utility in Plan-0. I have a complete list posted on my BBS here in Plano
please feel free to dial up and download. The file is listed under
Texas Freqs and the BBS number is 618-1278.

Actually, the police and all other public agencies use all 20 frequencies.
However, the lower set (821, 822, 823 MHz) are the repeater input freqs.
If a patrol car is within a few blocks of your scanner, you'll hear it.
The upper set (866, 867, 868 MHz) are the repeater output. These are the
only freqs you need to scan.

I've never heard any police units ask to bypass the repeater and use only
the input freqs. (In fact, I don't think their radios are set up to
receive inputs freqs. They would have to be a separately named
'talk-group'.) Detectives, on the other hand, do use digital encryption
quite often.
