After researching slowly and carefully, reading Rich Wells' and Lee
Rothman's recommendations, I finally decided to get a Watson. It fits
the description and seems to work very well on my Yupi M3.3.
Did I get what I should have?
Thanks guys,
Digirato
Is the Watson Super Gainer really unavailable? Is the Diamond RH-771
really equivalent to it? (the packing label and antenna are both
marked RH771). I guess it's possible but wonder what you guys think.

Thank you for your reply regarding your order number XXXXXX.
The Watson Super Gainer is no longer available. We are currently,
substituting the Watson with our CCSuper gainer scanner antenna. The
manufacturers packing labels are incorrect, but the product is of the
same quality. The antennas are manufactured specifically for B. Crane
[sic] Company, Inc.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to ... yada, yada

Sincere thanks,

Don't be too sure about that. I have a Diamond RH77CA and a Watson W-881 (Super
Gainer) and they are virtually identical in construction, fit, finish--in fact
in every way except the Watson is about 1/4 inch longer, certainly not enough
to make the difference that you claim. I haven't investigated it but I will go
out on a limb and say they two are so close (even in packaging) they were made
by the same company or by a company under license to make the near-identical
thing.
