EME Antenna Photo DATABASE :
Dear EMErs, Today, there are more than 140 photos of antennas into
the database covering the EME bands from 6m to 1.2cm.
http://picasaweb.google.com/papatoux The goal of this database is
to display (during a QSO or not) the photo of the antenna and the
location of a DX station. Of course, the database can also be browsed
with other tools like EME System and Google Earth at any moment.

Hi all! On Jan 2/3 2010 DUBUS will sponsor the 1st 70cm SSB EME Fun
Contest, SSB-SSB and SSB-CW QSOs are o.k. - Score = QSO x WPX-Prefix

is just an experiment and time will tell if this contest needs to

SOLAR CYCLE 24:
We now officially have solar cycle 24 sunspot group #11036, located
near S29W19 with a beta magnetic signature. We also have solar cycle
24 sunspot group #11037, located near N18E54 with a beta magnetic
signature. We now have three solar cycle 24 numbered sunspot groups
in existence at the same time, a new record high for solar cycle 24.
Also the sunspot number is 43, also a new record high for solar

Dirk, ON5GS and his group are planing a PERSEIDS Expedition to
Irland: After the successfull expedition of EI/ON5GS/P in december
2008, we want to repeat this during perseids 2010. Operators will be
ON8AR, ON6ZG and ON5GS. We will be qrv from IO44 and IO55 on both 2m
and 70cm with improved 4x 6elem and 8x 7elem DK7ZB portable yagis.
If there is some serious requests from other locators, we can activate
IO65, etc... The DX-pedition still in planning phase and all NEWS and

Jim, ND9M/VQ9JC AO-51 Satellite Grid DXpedition Announced
Jim, ND9M/VQ9JC, plans to activate 85 grids in 8 states on AO-51
between January 21st and February 10th. Jim and his wife will be
driving to the Denver area (DN70) where his step-son lives and
Cheyenne (DN71) where his brother lives. The trip will start from
Panama City, Florida, on/or around January 21st, from where they
head to Memphis, TN. Jim may possibly activate some grids. From
Memphis they will head westbound through OK, then into KS and NE
before hitting CO. Their around trip will take them through Big
Bend National Park and Texas (hitting every grid in TX) and the
Gulf Coast into Louisiana. Read all and more in detail at:

Vanuatu, YJ. Nao, JK1FNL will be active as YJ0NA from Port Vila,
Vanuatu from 28 December to 4 January. He will operate on 40-6 m.
with 100 watts and wire antennas. QSL via home call.

Eric, K9GY will once again be active as YN2GY from Granada (WW Loc
EK71AU), Nicaragua, from 27-31 May. QRV all HF bands, plus 6 metres
(100W, 3 ele quad, 50.115USB). His main focus will be the CQWW WPX
CW Contest (29-30 May) as a Single-Op entry. QSL via LoTW or direct

Members of the DXXE (Mexican Contest and DX group) will celebrate
their 5th anniversary by using the special callsign 4A1DXXE between
December 20-31st. Activity will be on 160-6 meters using CW, SSB,
RTTY and PSK31. The following operators will be active from
different locations: Ismael/XE1AY, Hugo/XE1CQ, Sergio/XE1CT,
Alex/XE1EE, Tony/XE1GRR, Pepe/XE1J, Ramon/XE1KK (Co-leader),
Masa/XE1MM, Carlos/XE1MW, Joaquin/XE1R (Co-leader & callsign
trustee), Miguel/XE1YYD, Benjamin/XE2AU, Bernardo/XE2HWB,
Hector/XE2K (Co-leader & schedule and log controls), Marco/XE2S,
Jorge/XE2WWW, Zalo/XE3N and Daniel/XE3RR. The QSL Manager is Dick
N7RO. Don't send your QSL cards to the Mexican Bureau since they
will not have QSLs to answer. Make sure your Bureau QSL card is
clearly marked via N7RO. QSOs with this station are good for the
