Just curious if anyone knew who the maker is? Good or bad radio

if it's a superstar it should be a Galaxy.. the regiular SuperStar
3900's are a pretty good unit..

if its a 3900 GOLD,
then its a good radio, believe me i use it in the mobile. you can do wonders
with it.

Most of the Superstar radios are made by Ranger. One model, the
Superstar 505 is made in another country by another manufacturer
and is a piece of junk. Outside of Superstar, Ranger also
manufactures Galaxy, Connex, Mirage and a few other brands along
the way. They DO NOT manufacture Northstar, Cherokee or any of
the Eagle radios, contrary to popular belief. These radios are
made by Wireless Communications in China. Sean

not the same as galaxy. They are probably made in the same country and maybe
the same plant.

I received an email stating that the Eagle series of radios were
made in the Philippines and not by Wireless. From what I have
seen, the Eagle Tomahawk was a clone of the Cherokee CBS-1000
with a few different features. I'll try and check into this and

sean i can answer this for you, i have talked to greg at wireless and he
is quite upset about the clones..... that face plate cost them alot of
money and they are upset that the mfg. sold out and are making them under
another name... there taking legal action but then thats anouther country.
doubt if they get any satifaction.......greg is one of th e owners of
wireless and been a friend of mine for years......dave....KG5XR

Yeah, I stated before it was built by Mirage. it's not, It could be
built by any number of companies. But it's imported by Mirage. same
guy and all... some know his name, I won't mention it here.

Hi Dan,
I have used a superstar 3900 for several years and find it great. I have had
good reports from all over Europe. The only indication of the maker on my
rig is the address CRT, France. SA. no indication of the city. Hope this may
help you.

As long as there is a 10% change in the layout and circuitry of the radio I don't think wireless
can travel the path of legal actions. Unless the company that made the facees for cherokee back
out of a legally binding contract. And thats another ball of wax.
