I've got a Radio Shack HTX-100 10-meter radio--you know, the one
with only two modes: USB and CW. Does anyone know whether the
radio could be modified to include LSB as well? I'm not even thinking
about trying to get AM mode--I've got the impression from other
people that adding AM would be almost impossible--but it seems to me
that a mod for LSB shouldn't be terribly hard. Anyone have any ideas?

Actually, it might be easier to get AM (although I cannot understand
why a person would want to do so) than it would be to add LSB.

I would recommend buying a radio that has LSB and USB, if you need both,
rather than attempting to modify the rig.

Amen! I have an HTX-100 and it IS a great rig. Plenty of hams would LOVE
to have one.

My HTX-100 will show 45 watts on CW through a Bird Wattmeter into a
dummy load when the high power pot is cranked open. Will the finals
handle this amount of power on SSB duty?
